Katherine Heigl: 'I Certainly Don't See Myself as Being Difficult'

12 hours ago | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

Katherine Heigl is not hard to work with. She promises! The actress, who met with the press Sunday to promote her new NBC drama State of Affairs, found herself having to defend the perception that she's not always a team player on TV and movie sets. "I certainly don't see myself as being difficult. I would never intend to be difficult," the former Grey's Anatomy star, 35, told reporters in Beverly Hills, California. "If I ever disappointed somebody, it was never intentional." At least she will have a familiar shoulder to cry on if the going ever gets tough on her »

Katherine Heigl had no choice but to address rumors of her "difficult" reputation today in front of a room full of reporters, and it was hard not to cringe The former Grey's Anatomy and Knocked Up star attended the TCA Press Tour in Beverly Hills to promote her new NBC series, State of Affairs, and reporters did not tread lightly when it came to asking about the rather unique status of her mother, Nancy Heigl, serving as an executive producer on the show, and also the reports that Katherine and her mother are "difficult to work with."     "I can only say that I certainly don't see myself as being difficult and I don't intend to be difficult," Heigl »

Katherine Heigl Addresses Her Controversial Reputation: "I Would Never Intend to Be Difficult"

15 hours ago | BuzzSugar | See recent BuzzSugar news »

To say Katherine Heigl is a controversial star is an understatement. The actress left Grey's Anatomy in 2010 after a conflict with writers, and her professional reputation has come under fire numerous times since. Heigl is returning to primetime this Fall with a leading role on NBC's political drama State of Affairs, and she fielded some tough questions during the show's Summer TCA panel. One in particular addressed her recent interview with Marie Claire UK, in which she claimed her career had "betrayed" her. Here's what she had to say: "I don't know that I said I felt my career was out of my control. I felt I had stopped challenging myself. I was making choices that I loved and that I was excited about. I loved doing romantic comedies, and I loved watching them, but I stopped exercising different muscles of my ability. In that moment, I felt I was »

Take Me To The Pilots '14: NBC's 'State of Affairs'

6 July 2014 2:50 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

[In case you've Forgotten, and as I will continue to mention each and every one of these posts that I do: This is *not* a review. Pilots change. Sometimes a lot. Often for the better. Sometimes for the worse. But they change. Actual reviews will be coming in September and perhaps October (and maybe midseason in some cases). This is, however, a brief gut reaction to not-for-air pilots. I know some people will be all "These are reviews." If you've read me, you've read my reviews and you know this isn't what they look like.] Show: "State of Affairs" (NBC) The Pitch: "Megan Boone is everybody's favorite part of 'Blacklist,' right?" "Ummm..." "So let's do something with the political intrigue of 'Blacklist' but without Red, Ok?" "Ummm..." "Katherine Heigl?" "Sold." Quick Response: I never bought into the Katherine Heigl backlash. I thought she was great on "Grey's Anatomy" and totally earned her Emmy. I thought she was a valuable part of the "Knocked Up" machine, plus I skipped every movie she's made since, which I'm sure helps. And Heigl is a solid contributor to the part of "State of Affairs" that I would watch on a weekly basis. It just happens she's the centerpiece of the part of "State of Affairs" I'd prefer not to watch again. It's probably not Heigl's fault that I don't care about the mystery of what happened to her deceased fiancé, who was the President's (Alfre Woodard) son. It's »

Katherine Heigl Felt "Betrayed" by Her Career

2 July 2014 6:39 AM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

For better or worse, Katherine Heigl's career will never be the same. Several years ago, the actress was poised to become the next big movie star, thanks to comedies like 27 Dresses and Knocked Up. And then…she opened her mouth. Heigl wasn't afraid to discuss taboo topics like sexism in Hollywood, and she openly criticized the writing she was given on ABC's Grey's Anatomy. While her candor was refreshing, it was also polarizing—and the media was quick to dismiss the actress. To their dismay, Heigl continued to work in film, starring in and executive producing 2009's The Ugly Truth (opposite Gerard Butler) and 2010's Life As We Know It (opposite Josh Duhamel), among »
