Trivia

An article in a 2014 issue of the scholarly journal Communication Research reported on the results of several studies that all found that being a regular viewer of Grey's Anatomy correlated with having much more strongly negative attitudes toward organ donation than non-viewers. The article said, in part: "Of the medical dramas examined for depicting organ donation myths, perhaps no program features as many inaccuracies as Grey's Anatomy (see Morgan et al., 2007; Morgan et al., 2010; Morgan, Movius, & Cody, 2009; Quick, 2009). Unfortunately, the impact of these inaccurate media portrayals results in misguided societal beliefs about organ donation (Morgan et al., 2010) and often surface as reasons for declining to register to be organ donors (Morgan et al., 2005)." Goofs

Throughout the series, the Chief of Surgery is shown as running the hospital and surgeons are depicted as making diagnoses. In reality, the Hospital would be run by the Chief Administrator, with a Chief of Medicine and a Chief of Surgery reporting to them. Diagnosis would be handled by medical doctors who would refer the patient for surgery. See more »

Quotes

Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevens: I'm a pretty girl.
Dr. Richard Webber: What?
Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevens: I'm not being arrogant, it's just... it's just kinda a fact. For a long time I made a career for my looks, so I get it. I'm a pretty girl. And not from a certain angle way, in an obvious way. It's the blonde thing, and the big boobs thing. Big boobs are key to obvious pretty, if you know what I'm saying.
Dr. Richard Webber: Dr. Stevens...
Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevens: That's how men see me. I'm not a smart girl or an interesting girl. I'm a pretty girl. The blonde and the boobs confuses guys into thinking that I'm ...

Excellent Series
24 November 2006 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This television series is one of the best dramas I've ever seen in a while. The cast has great chemistry, especially Patrick Dempsy and Ellen Pompeo. The script is flawless, full of new obstacles for each character to go through per episode, with bits of comedic writing in it as well. I have compared this series with the ER series and personally, I like this series much better. Grey's Anatomy has bits of life lessons for viewers to learn every so often. Many episodes breaks your hearts, making you feel tempted to even yell or shout at the television screen! Great cliff-hangers, making viewers waiting impatiently until next Thursday to see what happens next! Overall, Grey's Anatomy is a wonderful show. Tune in!
