The good part about movies starring pop stars is that, if you're a fan of the artist, then it's a movie you'll never forget (at least while a new trend doesn't comes in, for some). I love ego-trips, specially when they are Bad ego-trips. After "Spice World", "Seeing Double" and "Crossroads", we get yet another ego-road-trip starring a pop group, "Erreway - Cuatro Caminos".First of all, Erreway is a band formed in the early 00's inside Argentina's telenovela "Rebelde Way", created by Cris Morena, which later went on to be Mexican "Rebelde", from which we got RBD. Erreway was quite successful in Argentina, and so was the movie. There's no reason, tough, for the band to have broken up, in 2004, a little after the movie was released."Cuatro Caminos", as far as I got it, follows the characters after the ending of "Rebelde Way". Mia, Marizza, Manuel and Paolo go on a road trip all over Argentina, playing on bordellos and small-town-clubs. They get the chance of their lives when the band magically starts to work and make profit, but a lot of things will come in their way while they travel for stardom.Well, "magical" is basically the key-word in "Cuatro Caminos". Most things don't have an explanation; they just happened to fill the script with as much stories as possible. And so, the script is messy, clichéd and mostly unnecessary, since the main reason for someone to watch this film is to see (and listen to) Erreway. An old rerun of the show would do just as good. But, still, "Cuatro Caminos" works well as a continuation of the stories from the TV Show. It knows what the fans want, and it gives them: the songs are catchy, the actors are enjoyable and the movie features some hot scenes between the characters. Enough fluffy material to keep a fan satisfied. As I said, an episode of the TV show would do just as well as "Cuatro Caminos", but, still, it's not bad. As a big, "series-finale" movie, it works perfectly. As a teen drama, it's about the same range as "Crossroads": silly, fluffy and clichéd, yet pretty entertaining, if you're fit into the demographics (teens between 13 and 19, in this case).
