Watch the First Episode of Showtime's "House of Lies"!
Can't wait to get your hands on Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell, or Showtime's upcoming sizzler House of Lies? Well, why should you? Showtime has seen fit to release the pilot episode of their sexy new offering to the public in advance of its January 8th premiere, which follows the season 2 premiere of the UK-import dramedy Shameless.
House of Lies boasts an impressive cast, featuring award-winning actor Don Cheadle as smooth-talking management consultant lead Marty Kaan, Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars) as sparking teammate Jeannie Van Der Hooven, as well as Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation) as brown-nosing womanizer Clyde Oberhalt, and Josh Lawson as math expert Doug Guggenheim. Also part of the cast is Dawn Olvieri (Heroes, How I Met Your Mother) as Monica, Marty's pill-popping ex-wife and chief rival in the management consultant game.
- Kevin Fitzpatrick
Veronica Mars and Jean-Ralphio from Parks & Recreation are both in this show. That's probably all I have to say to get people to give the first episode of Showtime's House of Lies at least five minutes of their time, right? But if you need more than that: the show stars Don Cheadle as the head of a management consulting firm, which seems to be about as terrible as it sounds, and features the aforementioned Kristen Bell and Ben Schwartz as his underlings. There's also a good deal of cursing, nudity — though obviously you won't be seeing that last one here on YouTube — and kind of awkward fourth-wall breaking! It has some kinks to work out, for sure — honestly, it wouldn't be a Showtime show if it didn't — but anything that keeps Bell employed gets my stamp of approval. (Yes, even When In [...] »
The ABC Family series The Lying Game returns for the second half of Season 1 with Episode 1.11: O Twin, Where Art Tho? on Monday, January 2 at 8 Pm Et. Actress Charisma Carpenter, who plays Ann Rebecca Sewell on the series, recently held a conference call where she discussed the second half of The Lying Game's first season. Here's what she had to say.
Can you give us some insight into why Annie has been gone so long and her relationship with Phyllis?
Charisma Carpenter: Her relationship with Phyllis is sister. She's been gone so long because I think when she was there, she was in high school, and things did not go well for her. She was treated poorly, not well received. I think some very bad things happened to her and what they are exactly has not at this point been revealed to me. It's just touched on »
Is Castle fabulous in the ’40s? Which Revenge mainstay is about to become a lot more popular? Who is Sam Winchester’s “old friend”? Read on for those scoops, plus other teases from TV’s hottest shows.
Your January Premieres and Returns Calendar
Castle | The more we hear about the ABC drama’s 1940s-set noir episode, the more killer-diller it sounds. Thus far we knew that Castle’s retro alter ego is a Sam Spade type, while Beckett transforms into a gangster’s moll – specifically, the arm candy of a crooked club owner played by Mark Pellegrino (Supernatural, The Closer). “Stana [Katic] looked fantastic, »

Jason Dohring (Ringer, Veronica Mars) and Nicholas Lea (The X-Files) are guest starring in a new episode of Supernatural. And, you know we need some new talent following a few critical incidents in Winchester land.
Bobby, This is Your Life – More on the Winchesters’ Surrogate Father
In “Time After Time After Time”:
Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) tangle with the God of Time (guest star Jason Dohring), who sends Dean back to 1944, where he is immediately arrested by none other than the one and only Eliot Ness (guest star Nicholas Lea). While trying to figure out how to retrieve his brother, Sam is surprised by the reappearance of an old friend.

Okay, so casting a "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star might not count as a celebrity guest star, but we're putting "Glee" on watch anyway now that Nene Leakes is heading to Lima to play Sue Sylvester's rival.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the Atlanta housewife and "Celebrity Apprentice" reality star will play Roz Washington, McKinley's synchronized-swim team coach and Sue Sylvester enemy. So far she's filmed one episode. Considering Sam joins the team in the new year, it's safe to say she'll definitely be back for more.
We're not sure how we feel about this. While we don't love Nene quite as much as Anderson Cooper does, we're fans. But can she act? If she can, then she should be just fine. But if it's anything like we expect it to turn out, this will be a cringe-worthy, forgettable pop culture cameo that will really date "Glee" when you re-watch this episode in a few years, »
Veronica Mars has a good set of pipes on her!Kristen Bell posted a holiday video on her Twitter earlier today, showing her singing an acoustic version of "Let It Snow" with former "American Idol" contestant Jackie Tohn and friend Hannah Anderson -- and they're all really good!Bell joked her plan is to take down Michael Buble reign as the Kind of Christmas, tweeting "I Love Buble. But now that I'm clearly his direct competition for a hot Christmas single."What do you think? Good, right? Read more »

Steve Guttenberg, perhaps best known for the "Police Academy" movies, is receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Monday (Dec. 12). His star will be no. 2,455 and will be in front of the Police Activities League at 6411 Hollywood Boulevard, which is rather awesome.
Guttenberg is also known for other 1980s hits "3 Men and a Baby" and its sequel and "Cocoon" and its sequel, "Short Circuit" and "Diner." As of late, he was on Season 2 of "Veronica Mars" and "Dancing With the Stars," and is currently starring on Broadway in "Relatively Speaking," to positive critical reviews.
He is also known for his off-camera philanthropy work. He started the Guttenhouse Project, which provides housing in south Los Angeles for at-risk foster care youth when they turn 18 and have nowhere else to go. He also organized a campaign to provide glasses for poor children whose families cannot afford eye care.
The ceremony begins at 11:30 a. »
I had, briefly, considered just typing out the script word-for-word for tonight’s episode. Because tonight, Rizzles lovers, the line between subtext and maintext became so irreversibly blurred that it’s almost just a straight-up recap. Almost. Well, at least in my head. Well, always in my head. And away we go.
The Rizzoli-Isles family is all at the dinner table together, because where else would they be? It’s a farewell to Tommy and I think I can safely say from all of us gay ladies – don’t let that door that hit you in the ass on the way out, chess boy. Mama Rizzoli is all proud of her 32-year-old ex-con son for cutting up celery and broccoli. Elder siblings Frankie and Jane are somewhat less impressed, they’re apparently saving their “good job, gold star” faces for when he does something truly impressive like peel a banana or tie his shoes. »

Presenting our weekly round-up of all the biggest news stories from the world of movie superheroes…
We’ve known about it for what seems like an eternity now, but Warner Bros. have finally confirmed that the six-minute prologue from The Dark Knight Rises will be attached to certain IMAX screenings of the upcoming Tom Cruise action sequel, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, which hits North America on December 16th and arrives in the UK five days later. “Our experience on The Dark Knight shooting and projecting IMAX 15 perf 65mm/70mm film was inspiring. The immersive quality of the image goes beyond any other filmmaking tool available, and in revisiting Gotham, we were determined to shoot even more of the movie in this unique format,” said director Christopher Nolan as part of the official announcement. “Giving the fans an early look at an IMAX sequence is a great way to draw attention »
Last season, we made some predictions as to which lucky actor might play Klaus, "The Vampire Diaries" most-feared villain. Of course, we were way off, because Joseph Morgan didn't even cross our minds, and he's perfection.
Still, we haven't given up on our dream of being the best backseat casting director ever, so we're back with some new suggestions as to who will play the remaining two Originals.
At least, we think there are only two left. If Mama Original bore 7 children, then only two remain to be met, since one died in Europe, Henrik was killed, and we already know Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah. Some fans speculate that the first dead kid doesn't count and that Stefan is actually carting around four coffins, including Elijah's. We'll see!
There's no word yet on who the remaining Originals may be (though other sites have reported an Original named Finn is on his way, »
If full episodes of Showtime's new series "House of Lies" capture anywhere near the energy level and swagger of the trailer, then it will be going straight to the season pass list on our DVRs.
Because the trailer, which you can watch at the top of the post, is really pretty great. Showtime teased it to TV critics a few months ago, but it's only come online in the past couple days. It stars Don Cheadle ("Iron Man 2," "Hotel Rwanda") as Marty Kaan, a management consultant who will say and do whatever he must to make his clients happy.
The half-hour series, created by Matthew Carnahan ("Dirt"), also stars Kristen Bell ("Veronica Mars," "Scream 4"), Josh Lawson and Ben Schwartz ("Parks and Recreation") as Marty's cohorts, all of whom have their own, uh, quirks.
Showtime has censored some of Cheadle's most colorful language for consumption on YouTube, but take »

When I sat down for my video conversation with Tina Majorino back in September, it was actually to discuss her return as Deb in the Fox animated adaptation of her Sundance smash "Napoleon Dynamite." However, the "Veronica Mars" and "Big Love" veteran had just completed a visit to "Bones," reprising her role as Special Agent Genevieve Shaw. Majorino first played Shaw last season in the episode "The Hole in the Heart" and her second episode, "The Male in the Mail" will air on Thursday (Dec. 1) night on Fox. Entirely coincidentally, Fox also finally announced today that "Napoleon »

Boys and their toys.
While Booth is dealing with a personal crisis in this Thursday’s Bones (Fox, 9/8c), Hodgins and squintern Clark have a little too much fun trying to track down the weapon that chopped up a victim. As Hodgins reveals in the first clip here, that means raiding the Jeffersonian’s French Revolution exhibit for a guillotine!
Ask Ausiello: Spoilers on Bones
Speaking of things that (would seem to) cut like a knife: As mentioned above, the can’t-miss episode leads off with Booth getting bad news from his grandfather (The Waltons‘ Ralph Waite). Booth’s matter-of-fact reaction to the bombshell, »

Justified, Archer, and Unsupervised Given Premiere Dates by FX
FX has announced premiere dates for upcoming midseason shows Justified, Archer, and Unsupervised, so if you're in the mood for modern day cowboys, secret agents, and teen shenanigans, you might want to jot a few of these down.
Starting things off will be critical darling Justified, which is set to premiere Tuesday, January 17th at 10:00. The show previously aired on Wednesday nights, but with a new night comes a whole new set of evils; namely, Raylan will have to do battle with two "bad guys" this season as opposed to last season when Mags obviously ruled the roost in Harlan County. Check out some recent teasers for the show here and get to stocking up on moonshine for the upcoming premiere.
Archer returns on Thursday, January 19th at 10:00 after a three episode arc aired in September. If you want »

With Arrested Development finally set to make its TV comeback and (eventually) a big screen debut, there are a handful of other TV shows that are waiting in the wings for a movie comeback of their own. In particular, we've been hearing rumours about movies based on two Rob Thomas shows, Veronica Mars and Party Down, being in development for a while now. This week we've got yet another juicy rumour to add to the mix. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter at The Muppets premiere, actor / comedian / musician Bret McKenzie revealed that a Flight of the Conchords feature film might also be in the cards. It's difficult to tell just how serious he was, but he did say, "We’re gonna try and do a movie... We just need a story." McKenzie then went on to joke that the movie might be closer than we think: "I »

Supernatural Finds God from Mars
The Winchester boys are going to be tangling with their second god of the season, this one played by a veteran of Veronica Mars. Jason Dohring will lend his pretty face to Supernatural’s 12th episode, “Time After Time After Time”. Judging the episode on that title alone gives me fond memories of the Season 3 episode, “Mystery Spot”. That episode had the boys stuck in a Groundhog Day-like time loop. Time will play a huge part Dohring’s episode, thanks in part to the god he will be playing.
TVLine reported Dohring would guest star as the Greek god of time, Chronos. In his classic form, Chronos appears as an old man, with a big beard and everything. But this is Supernatural. They do their own thing. Who knows what they have planned for the Chronos character. They could slap a bunch of make »
