Did Supernatural Find Its Spinoff? Did iZombie Get You Hot? Which Gilmore Return Do You Not Want? And More Qs

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about shows including Gilmore Girls, American Crime, Supernatural and Younger!

1 | If Undateable gets renewed for Season 4, would it be too much to ask for “TV’s Scott Foley” to pop-in every week? Also, what joke from the finale’s East Coast airing had to be dropped from the West Coast staging “for legal reasons” (as Bill Lawrence shared on Periscope)?

American Idol Season 15 Episode 8 Review: “Hollywood Round No. 2”

28 January 2016 8:32 PM, PST | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

After the first round in Hollywood crushed the dreams of 82 American Idol hopefuls, we have gone from 190 contestants to 108. I can begin this review with this disclaimer: I am only able to continue writing, because I am still completely unaware of the fate of one Adam Lasher. I don’t know if I upset the Idol producer gods in a previous life, but for some reason I am being left in the dark on his status in the competition. I can’t even crack this case using my Veronica Mars like sleuthing skills searching for clues on social media. I need answers. The contestants are

Mindy Newell: Jonas And Jessica

25 January 2016 10:00 AM, PST | Comicmix.com | See recent Comicmix news »

Did Jonas come to visit you last week?

If so, I hope you and yours are all healthy and safe.

Jonas, of course, is the huge winter storm that not only dumped record-breaking amounts of snow on the Mid-Atlantic States and Eastern Seaboard up to Boston, but also caused major coastal flooding in areas that are still recovering from Sandy, like the Jersey shore. An 84-mile stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike was shut down, and 500 cars, trucks, and buses were stranded in the blizzard for almost a full day, with the National Guard delivering medicine, food and water, and gasoline (to keep the cars running and warm) to hundreds of people.

Governor Shamu – I mean New Jersey Governor Chris Christie – finally got the message and left New Hampshire, where he has been campaigning to come back to the state that he ostensibly governs. Everywhere there were travel bans; Mayor Bill de Blasio »

Judd Apatow Says A ‘Freaks & Geeks' Reunion Could Actually Happen

18 January 2016 10:18 AM, PST | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

It used to be that when a beloved series or franchise would be canceled, a small, very vocal community would not be able to let the dead IP rest, and when asked about the possibility of a reunion, those involved would be forced to say, “yeah, I would love that to happen.” Of course, such shows only seldom would come back. Over the years, there’s been talk about Joss Whedon returning to “Firefly,” yet it’s never come to fruition (though he did make "Serenity"), and while Guillermo del Toro acknowledges chatter about more “Hellboy” films, it never comes to pass. Fans have been itching for more “Carnivalé” too, but that doesn’t look promising. But with the rise of "PeakTV," the landscape is changing and almost everything seems up for grabs. A “Deadwood” movie is coming after years of fans clamoring for more and none but the most »

Michael Schur Talks ‘Good Place,’ New Kristen Bell-Ted Danson Comedy

14 January 2016 5:23 PM, PST | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

After a long stint in Pawnee, Ind., Michael Schur is heading to a very different place — a “Good Place,” in fact.

The latest project from “Parks and Recreation” executive producer Schur is a straight-to-series 13-episode comedy starring Kristen Bell (“House of Lies,” “Veronica Mars”) and Ted Danson. The NBC comedy is about a New Jersey woman who realizes that she’s not actually a very good person and tries to change — if only she can figure out what positive changes look like.

Danson, most recently seen in FX’s “Fargo,” will play a man who helps Bell’s character, Eleanor, on her self-improvement path. In his first interview about the new show, Schur, who is also an executive producer on “Master of None” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” said that there is a third major character to be cast, as well as an ensemble of a few other series regulars, but the »

First Look Promo For iZombie Season 2, Episode 11: “Fifty Shades Of Grey Matter”

13 January 2016 11:15 AM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Following up on a stellar mid-season premiere, The CW has released the first promo video for the next brand new episode of iZombie, which bears the clever title “Fifty Shades of Grey Matter.” If the hilarious title did not provide a big enough hint, the trailer shows just how much Liv’s libido has been set ablaze upon consuming the brains of a librarian who wrote erotic fiction. Based on the small amount of footage given, I think this could end up being my favorite episode this season.

Let us also not forget that this will also be the episode that will feature Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars, Heroes) as a guest narrator. One has to wonder if the “Veronica Mars with zombies” comparison was not lost on the producers. Then again, iZombie co-showrunner Rob Thomas was the creator of the aforementioned show.

Twenty years ago this week, an oddball NBC sitcom introduced viewers to a family of space aliens who, in the grand tradition of Alf, Mork and Mindy and My Favorite Martian, were attempting to hide out on Earth. And we can credit its success to a talented comedic cast that included John Lithgow, Kristen Johnston, French Stewart and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who was only 14 when the show premiered.
