Trivia

According to Patricia Arquette, one of the producers of the show asked her to lose some weight. Arquette refused, arguing her character had three children and (like Arquette herself) had no problem with her mom-look.
Sofia Vassilieva missed a few episodes in season 5 because she was shooting My Sister's Keeper (2009). She had to shave her head for the role and Patricia Arquette supported her by doing the same, which explains why the two of them had short hair at the beginning of season 6.
Miguel Sandoval (Devalos)'s daughter Olivia plays his daughter on the show.
Inspired by the real-life "psychic", Allison DuBois.
Cancelled after 5 seasons by NBC, but picked up by CBS, on which the show ran 2 more seasons and had the chance to wrap things up.
The real Allison DuBois serves as a consultant to the show.
Child actresses Madison Carabello and Miranda Carabello are real-life twin sisters who both share the role of Marie Dubois. Because of restrictive child labor laws in the film industry, the sisters alternate their parts enabling them produce a greater body of work playing the same character in the series.
Tina DiJoseph (Lynn DiNovi) is married to creator Glenn Gordon Caron. They have three children.
Patricia Arquette agreed to portray Alison DuBois, but made it clear to the real-life Alison that she would in no way model her performance on her.
Patricia Arquette and Jake Weber are the only actors to appear in every episode.
The storyline about Ariel going off to college was written because Sofia Vassilieva herself was going to college.
In several episodes, the viewer can see the district attorney's office is listed in Mariposa County. There is no Mariposa County in Arizona.
