that's right, i happened to be living in Rome in the eighties although i am from Argentina(that explains my lame English) I was about 7 or 8 when i saw the Bem's anime, keep in mind that this is from the 60's but Italy bought barely every anime ever done since they where big success in this country. the animation was cheap but despite that i remember being overwhelmed by the mood ,the atmosphere that u could literally breath from this series I recall an episode regarding a haunted abandoned train car being particularly spooky ,the sounds helped a lot too, flutes and instruments like that where utilized for the soundtrack. So despite the cheap animation the obvious care that the makers of this anime took for traing to inspire u horror took the cartoon in a very good level. Living now in Argentina it's for me impossible to watch it again, But how i would love to!
