Here are complete series rankings for the 2011-12 season in adults 18-49 and total viewers. Several highlights: NBC’s Sunday Night Football was the No.1 program of the season in both adults 18-49 and total viewers, ending American idol‘s eight-year streak topping both categories. Snf also became the first sports series to rank as the most watched primetime TV show for a full season. The highest-rated new series of the season are CBS’ 2 Broke Girls (in 18-49) and CBS’ Person of Interest (in total viewers). It was a strong year for freshman series as there where were 4 first-year series in the Top 20 among adults 18-49: 2 Broke Girls (#9), Fox’s New Girl (12), Fox’s X Factor (13) and ABC’s Once Upon A Time (16) vs. one, The Voice, last year. Fast National ratings for Friday, May 18, 2012.
The "Grimm" finale on NBC was up nearly a million over last week and won its timeslot in the 18-49 demo. The finale of "Nikita" was up slightly over last week's episode, while the finale of "Supernatural" was right on par with last week's episode. However, the winning program of the night was a rerun of "Blue Bloods" on CBS, though it was down nearly 4 million over last week.
CBS won the night with an average of 5.4 million viewers and a 3.7 rating/7 share in households. NBC was close behind at 5.2 million viewers and a 3.4/6 share. ABC was third at 4.76 million, 3.1/6 and Fox was fourth at 2.0 million, 1.4/3. The CW trailed at 1.5 million, 1.0/2.

Chicago – USA Network, most known for it’s WWE programming and a bunch of really good character focused comedy-drama’s you’ve wanted to get around to watching (but haven’t), announced several new reality TV programs it plans to bring to the network in 2012.
Unlike the recent reality boom focusing on blue-collar businesses (“Pawn Stars,” “Auction Kings,” etc.) the reality shows coming to USA appear to be focused on characters and their relationships. A good choice for a network with the motto ‘Character’s Welcome”.
With a buzzword straight from 2007, the ‘Bromantic’ reality series “Bride or Best Man” focuses on two male friends who have been put in charge of planning a big wedding. Shed Media is the producing company, veterans of the U.K Edition of “The Voice,” and the deliciously titled “My Transexual Summer.”

It's mid-May, and in the world of television that can only mean one thing: the television network upfronts are announced, and we find out what shows have been cancelled and what's coming for the fall 2012 TV season.
Today it was Fox Broadcasting's turn to reveal what's in store for viewers of their channel. With some old favorites gone (like House), there are several openings on the broadcaster's iternary. Let's see what's new, what's coming back, and how Fox describes their new programs.

What happens when an exuberant, irresponsible dreamer who always says “yes” moves in with his overly responsible little sister to help raise her five-year-old daughter? Ben And Kate, a new single-camera young ensemble comedy, follows these odd-couple siblings as they push each other out of their comfort zones and into real life. Glee is on the move.
Fox unveiled its official 2012-13 schedule this morning and the big news is the relocation of Ryan Murphy’s musical dramedy this fall to Thursdays at 9/8c following The X Factor results show (and American Idol at midseason). That timeslot’s former occupant, Kiefer Sutherland’s Touch, will shift to Fridays where it will lead into the final season of Fringe.

It's hard to tell where Fox is going on this one. Either it's not confident "Touch" will hold the audience Fox needs during the main part of the week -- or there simply isn't a good place for the series on its schedule. Whatever the reasons, Deadline.com is reporting a rumor that "Touch" could be moving to Fridays, pairing up with "Fringe." If that's the case, then that means the "Kitchen Nightmares" reality program with Gordon Ramsay could be held until mid-season. But it also means that there could be a significant ratings drop in the near future for "Touch." Can Kiefer Sutherland get the kind of love "Fringe" has received from Fox executives over the years if that's the case? "Touch" is averaging a 5.4 rating/8 share in Fast National overnight ratings from The Nielsen Co. through »

Because "The X Factor" takes up so much time on Fox's fall schedule, and because the Sunday animation block doesn't really change from year to year, the network doesn't have a ton of room to place new shows or otherwise make over its lineup. But we have a feeling the network is going to do just that this year.
Throughout pilot season, we've heard talk about how Fox wants to expand its live-action comedy roster, with Tuesday nights -- already home to "New Girl" and "Raising Hope" -- being the most likely place for a full night of half-hour shows. Our proposed schedule reflects that, pairing the two returning shows with a pair of newbies.
That means "Glee" could be headed for a new night, and in the world where we run Fox, a new part of the season as well. A logical spot for it in the fall would »

Fox is shaping up its 2012-2013 TV season slate, and we now know, we'll get a Season 2 of "Touch" and saying goodbye to "Alcatraz" and "The Finder," which have both been canceled.
Fox has picked up "Touch" for a second season after the series, which centers on a father (Kiefer Sutherland) whose son can see events of the past, present, and future, but is completely mute, performed well in the ratings.
"Alcatraz" and "The Finder," on the other hand, didn't fare quite as well. While "Alcatraz" saw high ratings initially, the show about the San Francisco prison starring Sarah Jones and Jorge Garcia plummeted in viewership during its 10-week run.
The "Bones" spinoff "The Finder," starring Geoff Stults, didn't have much luck to begin with. The procedural had quite a bit of competition in its 9 p.m. time slot on Thursdays, going up against "Grey's Anatomy" and "The Office."
Fox has already greenlit "American Dad, »

More Us TV network slates are being firmed up this week in preparation for the upfront presentations starting on Monday.
As a result Fox revealed today that it has renewed one and cancelled two of its freshman dramas from this past season. The winner was the Kiefer Sutherland-led "Touch" which has scored a second season despite a ratings drop-off in recent weeks says The Live Feed.
Not making the cut though are J.J. Abrams' freshman sci-fi drama "Alcatraz" and Hart Hanson's Burn Notice-clone "The Finder".
"Touch" joined a list of already renewed Fox shows like "American Dad," "Bones," "The Cleveland Show," "Fringe," "Glee," "Kitchen Nightmares," "New Girl," "Raising Hope" and "The Simpsons". »

Updated: Fox’s The Finder refuses to die a quiet death on graveyard Friday. In its third Friday airing last night, the Bones spinoff posted a 1.2/4 in adults 18-49, up 33% from last week and a Friday high. But there is a caveat – The Finder aired against all-repeats on the other major networks last night vs. mostly originals the previous two weeks, including Friday’s top-rated series, CBS’ Undercover Boss, which was replaced by comedy reruns last night (Mike & Molly, 0.9/4, Rules Of Engagement, 0.8/3). Finder‘s mate Fringe (1.0/3) inched up a tenth from last week’s series low. Can someone explain to me ABC’s scheduling strategy for Shark Tank? Against all odds, the low-key reality series came back strong this season and has done well against fierce unscripted competition in the Friday 8 Pm hour: Undercover Boss and, until recently, Fox’s Kitchen Nightmares. But ABC sidelined the show for almost a month, »

Fox's love of all things Gordon Ramsay continues. The network has renewed the outspoken chef's reality series, Hell's Kitchen, for two years -- seasons 11 and 12. Season 10 is scheduled to kick off on May 29th and will run twice a week starting in June. A double renewal for the Fox show isn't new. The network ordered seasons nine and 10 back in February 2011.
MasterChef will also return on May 29th, for the start of that show's third season. Ramsay's newest show, Hotel Hell, is set to premiere on June 4th. Kitchen Nightmares was renewed for a fifth season in February but the network hasn't decided when that will air. Could it be that Fox is planning to start a Chef Ramsay channel someday soon?
Here's the press release regarding the Hell's Kitchen renewals:
