Review
Psychiatrist Dr. Craig "Huff" Huffstodt (Hank Azaria), a family man living and working in a state of distraction, gets a shocking wake-up call when a troubled 15-year-old patient puts a gun in the mouth and leaves his troubles splattered over Huff's office while the dumbstruck doctor watches in horror. It makes for startling dramatic starting point in Showtime's acclaimed dramatic black comedy. It reverberates through his entire life, both professional and personal, from a homelife fraught with tension, notably between his supportive, strong-willed wife (Paget Brewster) and his passive-aggressive horror of a mother (Blythe Danner), and a best friend and legal representation (Oliver Platt) with a serious weakness of hookers and illegal substances. Luckily he has a 15-year-old son (Anton Yelchin) with a paternal streak to look after him. 13 hour-long episodes in a 4 disc box set of 2 thinpak cases.
