Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. did not part ways in the best possible terms, but they were never supposed to collaborate in the Dceu at all in the first place. Sofia Vergara is back on our small screens in a big way thanks to the her new Netflix series “Griselda.” The lavish production chronicles the rise of Griselda Blanco, known as the “cocaine Godmother,” as she flees from Medellín, Colombia, to Miami and creates one of the most notorious cartels in history.
Vergara gives her best performance in years as the ruthless, demanding, and brutal Griselda. She owns every scene she’s in and eats up not just the scenery but the entire cast, too. She commands every moment and delivers a complex portrait of a powerful woman, with critics agreeing Vergara is at the top of her game.
Barry Levitt (Empire) observed: “‘Griselda’ has given Vergara the chance to prove that she’s also a gifted dramatic actor — a challenge she more than rises to. Vergara (who also serves as executive producer) practically dissolves into the role, delivering an astonishing performance…...

Watchmen is quite possibly the most influential comic series ever. Written by Alan Moore and drawn by Dave Gibbons in 1986, it is a thorough deconstruction of the comic book medium and a commentary on Cold War-era politics. Watchmen is credited with revitalizing adult interest in the comic industry and ushering in a more mature tone for superhero stories. The comic is dense but exceptionally well written, with many interweaving plotlines that many considered unfilmable. However, the potential profits were too tantalizing to resist.
In 2009, Zack Snyder directed his adaptation of Watchmen to mixed reception. Some audiences praised the film's visual flair and apparent "updating" of Moore's original story. However, fans of the original series often decry the adaptation for missing the point of the story. As necessary in an adaptation, Snyder had to trim parts of the original story to fit into a theatrical runtime. However, some of the scenes...

Regina King starred in 2019’s Watchmen, an HBO limited series serving as a television continuation to the original DC comic series created by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. While the show embodied the essence of its source material, it forged its own path in storytelling—one met with both criticism and acclaim.

Watchmen was praised extensively for handling racial prejudices, terror, and intergenerational trauma with a nuanced take on the subject matter. However, among a particular group of fans of the original comics, it proved divisive, as reflected by the audience score it boasts on Rotten Tomatoes.
When King stepped into play the role of Angela Abar, it apparently was challenging to get some of her friends on board with the idea, and the underlying theme of this heartbreaking reluctance stemmed from the intrinsic nature of the show—including its political allegories.

“Mary & George” is the delicious new historical drama from British playwright D.C. Moore, who swaps out stuffy history lessons for a raucous, bawdy ride that fans of “The Favourite” will love. Like that Oscar-winning movie, this limited series on Starz focuses on an era of British royalty that is little-known to American audiences.
Julianne Moore plays the Countess of Buckingham, who groomed her son (Nicholas Galitzine) to seduce King James I (Tony Curran) in an attempt to curry favor, power, titles, and riches in 1600s England. In the titular role of Mary, Moore delivers another powerhouse performance. She owns every scene she’s in and proves once more why she is one of the best actresses working today. It has been three full years since Zack Snyder’s mammoth 4-hour version of Justice League came out. The film was initially plagued by controversy when the director stepped back midway to allow Joss Whedon to take over the reins. This move did not work well on many levels with regard to Whedon’s association with the narrative and the cast, which then prompted Snyder to complete the film in his original vision.

Over the course of a film career that has grown over three decades, writer/director Regina King has built one of the most impressive sets of credits of any actor working today. From her early performances in films by John Singleton, King has worked with such other distinguished directors as Cameron Crowe, Taylor Hackford and Barry Jenkins, delivering performances that have showcased her skills in comedy, romance and even action films. All of this work culminated in an Academy Award win for her stunning performance in 2018’s “If Beale Street Could Talk.”
King’s honors are not limited to her performances on the big screen, however. For her work in television, King has won an impressive four Emmy Awards — for the Netflix series “Seven Seconds,” the HBO limited series “Watchmen” and two consecutive Emmys for her performance in ABC’s “American Crime.” In addition, she starred in several successful series — “The Boondocks,...
