Disney, Marvel & More Schedule New Dates

Disney, Marvel and several other indie distributors have shaken up the film release date schedule this week with a bunch of shifts and announcements.

The Lindsay Lohan-led "The Canyons" will score a simultaneous VOD, iTunes and select theater release on August 2nd 2013.

"Therese," the Tom Felton and Elizabeth Olsen-led adaptation of Therese Raquin, is finally set for a theatrical release on September 27th.

Screen Media Films has acquired Suzanne Mitchell’s documentary "Running Wild: The Life of Dayton O. Hyde" which is targeting a limited theatrical and VOD release in October this year.

Disney has slotted in "Saving Mr. Banks," the Tom Hanks-led film about the genesis of "Mary Poppins," for a December 18th 2013 limited release.

"The Muppets" sequel has changed its title, it is now "Muppets Most Wanted" and still remains slated to open March 21st 2014.

The Jon Favreau-directed comedy "Chef" has set a May 9th 2014 release. »

Ld Entertainment has announced that Therese, starring Elizabeth Olsen and Tom Felton, will be released on September 27.

Set in the lower depths of 1860s Paris, Therese is a tale of obsessive love, adultery and revenge based on Emile Zola’s scandalous novel, Thérèse Raquin. Therese (Elizabeth Olsen of “Martha Marcy May Marlene”), a sexually repressed beautiful young woman, is trapped into a loveless marriage to her sickly cousin, Camille (Tom Felton of the “Harry Potter” franchise), by her domineering aunt, Madame Raquin (two-time Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Jessica Lange).

Therese spends her days confined behind the counter of a small shop and her evenings watching Madame play dominos with an eclectic group. After she meets her husband’s alluring friend, Laurent (Oscar Isaac), she embarks on an illicit affair that leads to tragic consequences.

Ld Entertainment has released the first official image from the romantic thriller Therese, along with the announcement that the film will be released in theaters on September 27th.  Based on the Emile Zola novel Therese Raquin, the film stars Elizabeth Olsen as a young woman trapped in an arranged marriage who conspires with her lover to dispose of her sickly cousin husband.  Oscar Isaac plays Olsen’s love interest, while Harry Potter’s Tom Felton plays the character’s husband.  Jessica Lange also stars as Olsen’s aunt.  The film will hit theaters this September, but is also expected to make the fall film festival rounds in anticipation of an awards season run. After breaking out with a terrific turn in "Martha Marcy May Marlene," Elizabeth Olsen has yet to find a way to top that performance. But with the upcoming period pic "Therese," that could change. Ahead of its September 27 release and planned Oscar campaign, Ld Entertainment has released the first still from the drama, and it's a scorcher. Love, Rosie

Sam Claflin is to star in Irish romantic comedy Love, Rosie – based on Cecelia Ahern’s 2004 novel ‘Where Rainbows End’ – alongside Lily Collins, set to start shooting in Dublin in May.

They will play Irish best friends Alex and Rosie, whose plans to go to college together in the Us get complicated by Rosie's unexpected pregnancy. Although Alex is not the child’s father, the pair stay in touch over the next 12 years by letters and emails as their lives change and destinies unfold.

Sam starred alongside Kristen Stewart in Snow White and the Huntsman, and will next be seen playing Finnick Odair alongside Jennifer Lawrence in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Lily Collins played Snow White in Mirror Mirror and will appear later this year in The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones alongside Misfits star Robert Sheehan.

Also joining the cast is 11 year old Lily Laight (represented by Sylvia Young Agency) from Torquay. »

The first poster for the Elizabeth Olsen-starrer, “Thérèse,” runs with a similar look to what we saw in that preview image that dropped back in November. Based on the Emile Zola novel, the Charlie Stratton-directed film features Olsen as Thérèse, a young woman struggling through an arranged marriage to her sickly cousin, Camille (Tom Felton). When Thérèse starts to experience true feelings for an old childhood friend, Laurent (Oscar Isaac), the two conspire to take out the thing that’s keeping them from living happily ever after, Camille. 'Harry Potter's Tom Felton to star in WWII drama 'Ghosts of the Pacific'

Tom Felton is to star in a new film set during World War II.

The Harry Potter star will join Raising Hope's Garret Dillahunt and The Host's Jake Abel in Ghosts of the Pacific.

The drama will tell the story of a pilot (Dillahunt), bombardier (Felton) and radioman (Abel) who, during a scouting mission in January, 1942, are forced to ditch their plane and brave the ocean on a small life raft with no food, water or supplies.

Felton recently completed the filming of Therese Raquin, in which he plays Therese's (Elizabeth Olsen) husband.

His character returns from the dead to haunt Therese and her lover Laurent after they conspire to murder him.

Felton has previously spoken about his fear of being typecast after appearing in the popular Harry Potter franchise.

Garret Dillahunt, Tom Felton, And Jake Abel Set To Star In American Film Co.’s WWII Thriller Ghosts Of The Pacific

Garret Dillahunt (“Raising Hope”), Tom Felton (Harry Potter), and Jake Abel (The Host) are set to star in Ghosts Of The Pacific, the true story of three WWII Navy flyers cast adrift on the South Pacific in 1942. The feature will be produced by The American Film Company, which specializes in making movies based on true stories from America’s past.

Producer and American Film Co. president Brian Falk will be making his directorial debut recounting the incredible journey of pilot Harold Dixon (Dillahunt), bombardier Tony Pastula (Felton), and radioman Gene Aldrich (Abel) – virtual strangers assigned to a scouting mission on January 16, 1942. When they are forced to ditch their plane, the men are left with no food, water, or supplies; only a 4×8-foot yellow life raft to keep them afloat on a dangerous ocean.

Oscar Isaac Set To Star In Partisan!

Oscar Isaac, we all remember him from the 2010′s Robin Hood, or even better – from Madonna’s W.E., right? Well, guess what, he’s all of the sudden set to play the male lead in the upcoming Partisan movie, which comes from Ariel Kleiman who’s making his directorial debut with this indie flick. Not much is known about the whole thing, except that Ariel Kleiman will direct the movie from a script he co-wrote with Sarah Cyngler, which will reportedly revolve around: …a vengeful man raising his children to attack the world that wronged him.
