following Kalle through this movie is a fantastic voyage of kitch music
and cinematography! As a close resemblance to a previous movie by the
same producers (hannibal og jerry), this story is great for adults and
kids alike -though not a date movie. stylized and filmed in a very
bright and Barbie-ken universe, and with a fun and quirky soundtrack,
it carries with it a very special style not found anywhere else...
the only thing that prevents this moving from reaching a ten, are the very things that make it so good: 1: you probably have to be a Dane to really enjoy the songs and dialogue fully! 1b: the Dane aspect counts greatly, as this movie is packed with cameo appearances by the best singers, comedians and actors in Denmark. 2: it conveys a very special feel and "folksy" perfect world... it is definitely a movie you would have to give a chance and try to move into the mindset and feel of it!
that said, WATCH THIS MOVIE! its great fun

Der Var Engang En Dreng was a great movie, very fairy-tail oriented this musical sort of reminded me of that Hansel and Gretel movie that came out in 2002. The movie was easy to follow and very cute, featuring Janus Dissing Rathke as Kalle the little boy who is very excited when he finds out his new baby sister has small wings on her back, this movie is very enjoyable as it follows Kalle as he try's to reach the "plastic Palace" in time to save his little sister from having her wings cut off. On his trek he runs into three evil pancake women, a man who brakes everything he touches, snow white and the 7x7 men and a very large lake.
