An altogether different game was originally planned, until its concept was scrapped. Its name was Crash Bandicoot Evolution. Much of the concept art for this game can still be found in Twinsanity's Yellow Gem Extras.

The Spyro the Dragon model used in the cameo from this game is the same as the one used in Spyro: A Hero's Tail (2005). This is why Eurocom is credited in this game, as they're the ones responsible for "A Hero's Tail" and offered the model for the cameo.
