Storyline

Two years after the events of "Kidô senkan Nadeshiko" (1996), Akito and Yurika are missing and presumed dead, the former foes of the Great War are allies, and the 14-year-old genetically-engineered wunderkind Ruri Hoshino is now captain of the new Battleship Nadesico. When a Martian separatist group initiates a well-planned, well-executed and most of all successful military action, the combined Earth-Jovian government and military are paralyzed by confusion and internal bickering. It is up to Ruri to reassemble the mostly-retired crew of the original Nadesico to take on an unsanctioned mission to bring a halt to the Martian Successors, free their stranglehold on Boson jump transportation, and discover the fate of Akito and Yurika. A welcome successor to the series
27 November 2005 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I have seen the series, MARTIAN SUCCESSOR NADESICO, and loved it. Not many scifi series have a marvelous mix of action, humor, and, of course, gorgeous babes and do it well. NADESICO: THE SERIES has it and the movie continues it.

I was a bit misled by the title: THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS, because I was expecting a dude resembling Dracula, but I still got a kick out of the movie. The humor that, in my book, made this show more enjoyable than DRAGONBALL or any of it's incarnations and it being a scifi show to boot quenched my appetite for anime scifi.

Well, I am not going to ruin it for you, so if you wanna know what the movie is about, you will have to watch the series first. After that, watch the movie. Its a riot!
