Great Film

China Lake is what i would describe as a Masterpiece. A True Gem of a Film. Robert Harman tells this story in a way that not many other people could. For me, the pleasure i get from this film comes from the Cinematography. You get such a sense of Time and Place from the way it is shot, the angles. Sometimes it appears that the heat of the midday sun is coming through the screen.

Charles Napier plays the Lead Character of Donnelly, a Motorcycle Cop who has a a very Dark Secret. The strength of Napier as a Person on both the physical level and also the psychological gives this story a fresh and unnerving realism that appears to be absent from many of todays 'Bad Guys'.

The snarly undulations of the Harley Davidson co-exist with the synthetic soundtrack to create a feast for the ears that only serves to accentuate the moving image in front of you.

A truly remarkable film that will remain timeless.
