Fabrice Du Welz Preps 'Coffin Island'

7 July 2008 12:01 PM, PDT | From bloody-disgusting.com | See recent Bloody-Disgusting.com news

This past weekend Bloody-Disgusting had the pleasure of chatting with Fabrice du Welz, director of the popular Calvaire and the upcoming Vinyan (trailer), who revealed that his next film might be an adaptation of Maurice Leblanc's 1919 novel, The Island Of Thirty Coffins. While chatting Vinyan, Fabrice du Welz tells Bloody-Disgusting exclusively that his next film will be an adaptation of a classic book from 1919, The Island Of Thirty Coffins. "Im working on a book adaptation called 'LÎle aux cerceuils' (Coffin Island)," Welz explains. "Its a period movie quiet gothic. [It's] a great story... still in process we hope that start the production next year."

Trailer Park: First Look at French Horror Film 'Vinyan'

28 June 2008 9:21 PM, PDT | From bloody-disgusting.com | See recent Bloody-Disgusting.com news

Holy smokes! Today the boys at Twitch Film scored a first look at the trailer for the horror film Vinyan, which was directed by Fabrice Du Welz (Calvaire). You can take a look at one helluva trailer by reading on. Still not having accepted the loss of their son in a tsunami disaster, Janet and Paul Behlmer are back in Bangkok. Hanging onto the fact that his body has never been discovered, Janet desperately clings to the idea that pirates might have kidnapped their kid in the confusion that followed the catastrophe. Looking for someone to guide them in the Thai underworld, they bribe their way to a mysterious Mr. Gao, who takes them to Ranong, where a mercenary supplies them with a boat and crew to explore the pirate-infested shores of Burma. Slowly, they will lose themselves into a strange child-infested jungle and to their inner demons.
