Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi follows the adventures of two very cool, but very different, pop stars as they travel from gig to gig or just hang out in their hometown, Tokyo. Being famous rock stars, Ami and Yumi tour the globe in their customized Puffy bus, a veritable condo on wheels with all the major amenities and an ever-changing interior. Ami is the peppy, positive and resourceful one. Yumi is the hard-rocking, no-nonsense cynic with an absolutely infallible sense of cool. Together, these superstars take the world by storm with musical talent, trend-setting style and humor, despite occasional misjudgments from their well-meaning but tragically square manager, Kaz. Whether they're jamming with aliens, being chased to the center of the earth by an obsessed fan or getting knocked into a video game by a tsunami, Ami and Yumi always come out on top - dishing out lessons in J-pop justice and the international language of "cool" along the way. Did You Know?

Ami, Yumi and Kaz speak in Japanese when they are upset, injured, or being shocked. Ami and Kaz's voice actors are Japanese. Yumi's voice actress learned how to speak some of the language in the series thanks to both her cast mates. This is also evident in the episode of The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy titled "My Peeps". See more »

From all shows that were made from cartoon network from 2004 till now, this one is the best!
6 September 2009 | by (Slovenia) – See all my reviews

I can't believe that people hate this show, because of it's animation and the fact that two girls star in it. I can just say that anybody who hates this show has no taste for cartoons. I like at this show the fact that it parodied older cartoons, like Tom & Jerry, The Adams family, the Flinstones and more. None of the present shows that are on Cartoon network even mentions these. I love that this show didn't had any real violence, like shooting. Moast of the shows that are now on cartoon network can't make even one (stinking) episode without shooting (Robotboy) or explosions or things that aren't even possible (Chowder) . The characters are great, Ami and Yumi are best friends and every time they are angry at each they other soon apologize to each other and forget what happened. Kaz is really greedy, but he's also a very funny character and also their cats Jang Keng and Tekirai are great characters. When they make fun of Kaz they do similar things jerry did to Tom. Sadly because of the management change in 2006 Puffy got canceled, 5 episodes were never aired. It is really stupid that because of this all the good shows got canceled. Puffy got probably canceled, because the main characters were girls. I think this because all the other shows that stared girls got canceled shortly after puffy. At least this show made 117 7 minute episodes before it got canceled and I love to watch every episode. Sadly like the older cartoons it's gone and it's unknown if it will appear on TV ever again :(.
