A Black Mark on Science-Fiction

The new Battlestar Galactica is the kind of show that gives fodder to those who want to dismiss the genre wholesale.

It doesn't have the slightest shred of originality or creativity. Instead, we are "treated" to a parade of empty-eyes model-types reciting bad lines that try oh so hard to be profound but are only PC and clichéd.

And of course, there is the directing of the show, or what passes for it. For some reason, bad TV producers have taken to the idea that shaking the camera at anything and everything somehow makes their show "real".

In reality, this makes their show look as fake as a three-dollar bill.

It's sad to see a couple of veteran actors wasting their talent in this abysmal and pretentious production, but what is really awful is how SciFi Channel has spent so much money hyping this dud instead of using the money to make a good show.

For shame!
