Hands on with Nintendo Switch

17 January 2017 5:54 AM, PST | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

At a recent hands-on event, we got to have an early go on Nintendo's brand new console. Here's what we made of the Switch...

It’s fascinating to think that, a decade ago, Nintendo turned the games industry on its head with its hand-waving, vase-breaking, cat-frightening Wii remotes. Suddenly, rival companies Microsoft and Sony were clamouring to bring in their own answer to that control system - the kind of simple yet effective idea that made the Wii one of the most accessible and best-selling consoles of all time.

This New Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Trailer Will Make You Buy A Nintendo Switch!

13 January 2017 6:46 AM, PST | | See recent LRM Online news »

Holy Crap.

Okay, let me start by stating that I've been a "Nintendo guy" since I was 4. My parents got me the Nes when I was four, and I've owned every piece of hardware they've put out since (save for the Virtual Boy. Because...Virtual Boy). I was even one of those people who camped out outside of Nintendo World in Rockefeller Center to get the Wii.

And yet...I was going to pass on Nintendo Switch.

Yeah, it looked pretty cool and interesting. I dug the announcement trailer. But considering I don't game as often as I used to (having two kids will do that to you), and the fact that I think I played my Wii U for a grand total of 37 minutes, I had resigned myself to the idea that the Switch would be the first time I passed on a new Nintendo console.

Nintendo Switch: what we’ve learned from its big unveiling

13 January 2017 2:30 AM, PST | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Ryan Lambie Jan 13, 2017

The successor to the Wii U is mere weeks away. Here’s what we’ve learned from Nintendo Switch’s official unveiling...

Late last year, Nintendo ended month after month of speculation with a single video. Through the medium of happy, smiling models pressing buttons and staring at a TV screen, the Japanese giant announced the Nintendo Switch - formerly known under its codename Nx, and the successor to the likeable yet sadly obscure Wii U.

New Clips For Michael Keaton's Great-Looking Upcoming Film The Founder Are Here!

12 January 2017 9:09 AM, PST | | See recent LRM Online news »

Both times that I saw Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in theaters I was treated to a trailer for The Founder. The film caught my attention because, well, it stars freakin' Michael Keaton, and because it seems like a great story that's pretty much never been told. So I'm in!

And today, I get to share with you three new clips from The Founder, as well as an official synopsis for the film that will show us about a key business decision that practically changed the world.

Here are the new clips from The Founder, starring Michael Keaton:

"Real Milk"

"You're In The Real Estate Business"

"Selling The American Dream"

Directed by John Lee Hancock (Saving Mr. Banks), The Founder features the true story of how Ray Kroc (Michael Keaton), a struggling salesman from Illinois, met Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running a burger operation in 1950s Southern California. »

Huge: Dwayne Johnson Comments On Dceu Remaking Itself With 'Tonal Shifts'

12 January 2017 8:27 AM, PST | | See recent LRM Online news »

If you're a lifelong DC nerd like me, then these comments from Dwayne Johnson are heaven-on-earth...

One of the recurring critiques coming from folks put off by the first three films in the DC Extended Universe is that they've worked too hard to- as producer Deborah Snyder put it- "deconstruct" their heroes. They've tried to be subversive, morally complex, and generally "dark." Inspired by the success Christopher Nolan found when he rebooted the Batman franchise and turned it into a high-minded, grown-up allegory for the tricky times we all live in post-9/11, Zack Snyder was hired to steer the entire DC ship in a similar direction.

There were a few problems with that, though.

For starters, Snyder is no Nolan. Period. And the bigger problem was: Not every DC character is Batman.

So when his Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice gave us an angst-ridden Superman, »

Hot Rumor: Has The Title And Plot For The Next Main X-men Movie Been Revealed? Scoop Confirmed?!

12 January 2017 7:42 AM, PST | | See recent LRM Online news »

A few months back, we shared with you an official Lrm Hot Rumor regarding the next proper entry in Fox's X-Men series. In a nutshell, we'd spoken to a high-level source at Fox, who exclusively revealed to us that the next chapter in the X-Men saga would be a full-on Dark Phoenix movie, based on the storyline that was so popular in the comics and on the 90s TV cartoon.

Well, now there's another rumor hitting the net that may- or may not- confirm our report.

According to the industry publication Production Weekly, the next movie in Fox's mutant saga will be called X-Men: Supernova. While this was once rumored to be the title for Josh Boone's X-Men: New Mutants, the publication makes it appear perfectly clear that Boone's film will stick with its »

xXx To Become The Next Fast & Furious. Will Fourth Flick Film In May? (Does Dom Die In F8?!)

12 January 2017 6:43 AM, PST | | See recent LRM Online news »

On January 25th of last year, I shared a report with you regarding xXx: Return of Xander Cage while that project was still in its earliest stages. In that report, I shared with you a pair of rumors that- if true- suddenly made this new xXx far more interesting. While one of them remains merely a rumor (one that we won't know the status of until the film arrives in theaters), the other already seems to be coming true.

Read: "The Vin Diesel xXx Sequel Just Got Bigger"

It would appear that xXx: Return of Xander Cage will definitely not be a one-off, and that Paramount and star Vin Diesel are hoping it becomes the next Fast & Furious franchise. Why do I say that? Because, according to Diesel, Paramount is already trying to lock up the cast to shoot a fourth film in May.
