After a repeat viewing of "Permian Flow", I came to the conclusion that coincidence could not have created much of the embedded imagery, no matter how subtle or obvious at times. This simple(?) collage of nature video footage and sound-bytes from the past is riveting from the time it pulls you in with its initial sound of water, creating the rewarded desire for the image to follow. There is no music, apart from the musical score of the sounds of nature, which are laid under recent historical human drama, portrayed only through old audio footage of news reports covered by early pioneers in radio and television through the year 2001. The lack of music is an enhancing quality. Understatement seems to be a profound strength that Kersey draws upon and uses powerfully. In any event, it is a piece that needs to be experienced, not just watched.
