Tavis Smile is the MAN!!!
EasyAttack21 October 2004
I love this show. Tavis Smiley's PBS show is good enough to be on network television. Tavis books the best guests and asks good questions. The people at BET are idiots for letting this man go. My only complaint about this show is that it is only 30 minutes when it should be a full hour. Tavis Smiley always represents! If you haven't seen this show, or never watch PBS, I suggest you start. Tavis Smiley has had guests ranging from Tom Cruise, John Edwards, Maya Angelou, Bruce Willis, Borack Obama, and others. Politicians, actors, writers, artists... Tavis has them all. I really cannot stress how good this show. Tavis's show takes place in Los Angeles and represents with Los Angeles is all about(at least the part where I am from). Keep doing your thing Tavis!

The Smiley Tavis Affair...
keelhaul-8085614 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This guy comes on PBS late at night, or appears on random political shows or radio programs from time to time. First of all, his name just makes people laugh. It makes one assume that they were trying to say "Travis", but misspelled it or something. His last name is also humorous. He sounds like a character in a child's bedtime story. He is somewhat intelligent, and it is nice to see a black man wearing a suit, respecting himself, instead of pandering to the ghetto side of pop culture. However, he seems to talk with a lisp, and his information and view on politics is like many people of all colors today-- very low and tragic. Apparently the public needs to fund his boring discussions on PBS, though, which I find annoying- subsidizing partisan people and random borefests with tax dollars. Bottom line-- He looks smart, but after listening to his silly interviews and his actual viewpoints or knowledge of world events, you quickly realize that he isn't very impressive or knowledgeable. He is knowledgeable of the world in the style of= "Everything is racial. Obama was Jesus, but he still didn't do enough for people. Insert popular PC messages here. Blah blah blah. Keep the faith." -- I find it funny that he encourages viewers to keep the faith, but clearly supports people who have little or no faith, and who drive agendas that ruin most young peoples' faiths. LOL. Just anther robot in a million, who somehow got a free platform on public television.

Talented Tavis!

I can't comprehend why Tavis Smiley has not been invited as a guest on high profile talk shows. I'm baffled. Unless I've missed it, he hasn't been a guest on the Oprah Show, Jay Leno, David Letterman, daily and Sunday morning talk shows, Hardball, etc. He's certainly knowledgeable enough. How is it possible that VIP's from the worlds of politics, entertainment and every other genre have been interviewed by Tavis, but hosts of most prime-time shows have not sought his take on just about any subject? This oversight should be corrected immediately. Tavis Smiley is terrific! Again, I'm baffled... After a daily diet of Black men behaving badly paraded before the public on the evening news, it's refreshing to see Tavis at the top of his game every evening on the Tavis Smiley Show.
