Revealing mistakes: The composition shot of the newspaper articles in the beginning of the film detailing the accidental shooting have different headlines to advance the storyline, but the article contents are identical on each clipping, and have to do with the stock market, not a murder.
Crew or equipment visible: When Chris Lei is attacked by Lorenz, a few film shots are shown of the inside of the house where the attack takes place. In the shot showing the staircase the light through the windows reflects the shadow of a crewman upon the floor, who quickly ducks out of sight.
Factual errors: In the opening scene where we see the newspaper clippings, one of them is titled "Victims Family...” This is grammatically incorrect: it should be "Victim's Family" (if talking about one victim) or "Victims' Family" (if talking about more than one victim belonging to the same family).
Factual errors: Again in the newspaper clippings, and much worse than omitting the apostrophe from victims', is the one saying "Call to Reign in 'Cowboy Cops'". This patently should be Rein, not Reign. No editor worthy of the name would let that one by.
Factual errors: When Connors and Dekker meet the female detective after the shootout in the apartment block, the detective shakes hands with them. Not only is she dusting finger prints (which is not necessary as he owns the apartments), but wearing her gloves, she shakes hands with Dekker. This doesn't happen in real life, because the purpose of the gloves is to stop contamination.
Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): In the scene where Detective Conners is interrogating the girlfriend of one of the suspects, he corrects her grammar by saying, "It's 'You didn't do anything.' 'You didn't do nothing' is a double negative. It infers to positive. The grammar in this country is terrible." Ironically he misuses the word, "infer," when correcting her. He should have said, "imply." A person infers what someone else implies.
Factual errors: Upon entrance to Damon Richards' hospital room the cardiac monitor reads 76, yet the audible beeping is closer to rate of 66.
Errors in geography: During the chase scene an overhead road sign shows "W. Cordova" which is a street in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
Revealing mistakes: The Seattle police helicopter and the private plane both have Canadian aircraft registrations - beginning with C rather than the N registration in the United States.
Revealing mistakes: (At 00:35:43) Dekker is riding a motorcycle through a parking garage. He decides to break out through a glass door, and if you watch closely, the glass breaks just before the motorcycle even hits it.
Continuity: While Ryan Phillipe is in a motorcycle chase, they pass through the same alley 4 times only in different directions.
Errors in geography: During car chase scenes and normal driving scenes, Jason Stratham and Ryan Phillipe are during in the wrong direction down 1 way streets in downtown Vanoouver down West and East Cordova and Water Street, Georgia Street, Pender Street, Richards Street, Seymour Street and Powell Street. These are all one way streets running in the opposite direction of the way they were going. In several shots and in many cases do not connect at intersections even close to the neighboring areas.
Errors in geography: During the apartment shootout, Jason Statham's character dives into a room and a "Panago" pizza box can be seen on the table. Panago pizza only has locations in Canada, not Seattle, where the movie is set.
