Spaced Out! was a Showtime Exclusive back in 1992, and like so many Comedy Club Specials, it had some very funny parts. spoilers: Jonathan Winters in his later years was often either very funny or sadly disturbing. In "Spaced Out!" he has moments that are very funny and some moments that are uncomfortable to watch. Overall though, he is a special comedian, and even the strange moments are a question of interpretation. Really at his best in this show is CARROT TOP. I have never been a fan of his, but in "Spaced Out!" he has an angry edge to his presentation, and it makes his type of comedy a lot funnier, in my humble opinion. Tommy Sledge is very good in his understated manner. Less funny is John Kassir (the voice of The Crypt Keeper) as he mostly just imitates the voices of cartoon characters. The least funny segment is by Susan Norfleet. Her comedy was about abused women, divorce, big-hair, etc. and it was not funny even in 1992 as she did not get much applause or laughter. The way this show was filmed perfectly captured the feeling of a small Comedy Club. The audience frequently interacted with the comedians, and it was a warm, friendly audience. Overall, this is a nice TV show to watch if you can find it on video or cable.
