Jessica Alba Flaunts Abs While Doing Hot Yoga With Her Dad

23 December 2014 3:00 PM, PST | TooFab | See recent TooFab news »

Jessica Alba works hard for her body! The actress posted a new photo via Instagram on Tuesday, posing for a picture after doing some hot yoga with her dad, Mark David Alba. "Brought my pops @markdalba to 6:30am #hotyoga w @omarrlopez #staymotivated #noexcuses #workhardplayhard," she captioned the candid snap. It definitely looks like the group got a good workout in! They're all dripping in sweat in the steamy shot. While the "Sin City" star is known for her healthy lifestyle, we gotta hand it to the 33-year-old beauty -- she does look pretty darn amazing, especially after having two kids. We love that the Honest Company founder still finds time to stay active, even though she's a full-time mama and constantly jet-setting around the world for her lifestyle brand. Alba shared this sweet snap earlier this month while traveling with her adorable lookalike daughter, Honor Warren. What do you think about Jess' workout routine? »

Robert Rodriguez's 'Fire and Ice' Remake Will Bring Frank Frazetta's Amazing Paintings to Life

19 December 2014 6:15 PM, PST | Movies.com | See recent Movies.com news »

Another animated fantasy adventure directed by Ralph Bakshi is getting a live-action remake, but this one probably won't look much like the recent Lord of the Rings and Hobbit redos. This time it's an original work, 1983's Fire and Ice, that's on its way in front of cameras, and this time it's Robert Rodriguez who'll be behind them. Fire and Ice was a collaboration between Bakshi and famed illustrator Frank Frazetta, who was best known for painting the covers of pulp fantasy, adventure and science fiction novels such as those in the Conan the Barbarian, Tarzan and Barsoom (aka John Carter of Mars) series. For Rodriguez's version, the filmmaker aims to do something similar to his Sin City movies but mimicking Frazetta's painting style rather...

James Gunn says the Thanos scene in Guardians of the Galaxy was the hardest scene to write

19 December 2014 1:39 PM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

During a chat with Vulture, James Gunn has been speaking about the challenges of bringing Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy to the screen, and in particular the scene he found most difficult to write – the one featuring the Mad Titan Thanos…

“There’s pressure with Thanos because you’re setting up this gigantic character that, in one way, isn’t really a part of your movie,” states Gunn. “His presence doesn’t really serve being in Guardians, and having Thanos be in that scene was more helpful to the Marvel Universe than it was to Guardians of the Galaxy. I always wanted to have Thanos in there, but from a structural standpoint, you don’t need him. So that’s part of it, and then part of it is the fact that you’re setting up this incredibly powerful character, but you don’t want to belittle the actual antagonist of the film, »

Robert Rodriguez Officially Set For Fire And Ice

19 December 2014 7:36 AM, PST | EmpireOnline | See recent EmpireOnline news »

It’s four years since Robert Rodriguez announced he was looking to mount a live-action remake of ‘80s animated adventure Fire And Ice. He’s been busy on other things since then, but has now signed a deal to direct the film for Sony.Fire And Ice, which will draw from Frank Frazetta’s artwork in a similar – though perhaps not as direct – way to Sin City and Frank Miller, adapts the story from the Ralph Bakshi animation. It’s all launched when evil type Nekron sends glaciers out that destroy most of the surrounding strongholds. Humanity retreats to Fire Keep, ruled by the benevolent King Jarol. But when his daughter is kidnapped, a young warrior must venture out to save her.“I’m a lifelong Frazetta fan who was inspired by his work, like so many people,” Rodriguez tells Deadline. “It was my dream to work with him, and »

Rodriguez To Direct Sony's "Fire and Ice"

19 December 2014 7:11 AM, PST | Dark Horizons | See recent Dark Horizons news »

"Sin City" helmer Robert Rodriguez is set to direct a live-action remake of Ralph Bakshi’s  animated 1983 feature "Fire And Ice" for Sony Pictures.

Based on characters created by Bakshi and Frank Frazetta, the original Fox film used rotoscoping with scenes shot in live action and traced on to animation cells.

The story is set in a village destroyed by a surging glacier, the domain for an Ice Lord, and the only survivor vows to avenge this act of destruction.

Rodriguez has been developing drafts for some time which Gary Michael Walters, Matthew Rhodes and Michel Litvak have been funding.

Robert Rodriguez's 'Fire and Ice' Movie Goes to Sony

19 December 2014 6:53 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

First announced during Comic-Con 2011, Robert Rodriguez's long-planned live-action remake of the 1983 animated fantasy adventure Fire and Ice is finally moving forward at Sony. The studio has acquired a big package deal, hoping to turn the title into a franchise. The film will serve as a homage to Robert Rodriguez's friend and late artist Frank Frazetta.

Fire and Ice is an expensive buy for Sony at a time when the studio is going through troubles. The deal reunites Sony with Robert Rodriguez, as it was their Columbia Pictures division that acquired his breakout hit El Mariachi at Sundance in the early 90s. The plan is for Fire and Ice to launch a fantasy adventure series that will be informed by the paintings that Frank Frazetta has left behind.

The original Fire and Ice revolved around a small village that is destroyed by a glacier domain ruled by the evil Ice Lord Nekron. »

DVD Review: 'Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For'

15 December 2014 12:42 PM, PST | CineVue | See recent CineVue news »

★★☆☆☆After an almost decade-long gap since Sin City (2005), you’d think that collaborators Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez would have made time to craft a watertight narrative and ensure that expectations were not only met but exceeded in belated sequel, Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For (2014). Sadly, that isn’t the case. Once again pulling from those tropes of classic Noir and imbuing them with a graphic, hyper-violent gleam the follow-up also sticks to the same circular story structure as the previous film, but it simply isn’t compelling enough this time around, nor does it feature that same colourful collection of frazzled lowlifes and crazed antagonists.

DVD Review – Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014)

15 December 2014 4:19 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, 2014.

Directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller.

Starring Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, Eva Green, Powers Boothe, Ray Liotta, Dennis Haysbert, Christopher Meloni, Jeremy Piven, Jaime King, Juno Temple, Christopher Lloyd, Lady Gaga, Stacy Keach and Jamie Chung.

Synopsis:

Some of Sin City’s most hard-boiled citizens cross paths with a few of its more reviled inhabitants.

Innovation should be rewarded. Experimentation should be commended. For those two reasons I’m awarding the second Sin City film two stars. There are reasons to celebrate the cinematic adaptation of Frank Miller’s neo-noir series of graphic novels. They are garish mash ups of old stories and new technology. Visually interesting pieces of crime fiction that expose almost every cliche the genre ever created.

I was pretty tough on the first Sin City. I admired what it aspired »

It was an invite to review a Blu-ray like any other, or so I thought. You get your disc, you take your chances. Sometimes everyone goes home with a smile on their faces, sometimes people go to the emergency room… without any face. I heard from the people that know that a sequel to Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez’s Sin City was in town. Looking for trouble. Out to bust some heads and blow some minds. Sin City and me, we go way back. We had history. Once we’d been lovers but time had moved us apart. So when this new bozo turns up, A Dame to Kill For, »

Best Video Games of 2014 (Pt. 5)

14 December 2014 3:00 AM, PST | SoundOnSight | See recent SoundOnSight news »

We asked some of our writers what their top 5 games of 2014 were, and have since compiled them into five parts. They will be released every two days, with each writers top 5 counting down through successive entries. These are our writers’ top choices.

1) Dark Souls II (Mike Worby)

Following in the footsteps of its divisive forebears, Dark Souls II is an incredibly challenging and endlessly atmospheric action-rpg. Now, with three expansions under its already sizable belt, Dark Souls II is about the most bang a player can expect for their buck for this gaming year, and even though it lacks the power and punch of the original Dark Souls, it has enough new elements and content to easily justify itself. A brutal and beautiful ride, Dark Souls II is an easy pick for my favorite game of the year.

1) The Wolf Among Us (Tariq Ashkanani)

Aside from the familiar faces, "Only" seems to be about Minaj holding hot guys (and a few girls) captive. The video begins with the rapper walking into a prison cell, slightly seducing a shirtless, chiseled man and then tying him back-to-back against another hot guy.
