Cowboy hat rockin’ movie master Robert Rodriguez is getting ready to unleash another children’s flick this August, something along the lines of his trippy kids’ films “Sharkboy and Lava Girl” and the “Spy Kids” trilogy. Much like those older films, “Shorts” is a fantasy adventure flick that aims to take children’s imaginations to unimaginable places.
“It’s a kid’s movie and it’s all about a wishing rock,” 13-year-old Jimmy Bennett, star of the “Shorts” and the young Captain Kirk in May’s “Star Trek,” explained. “People make wishes that go bad.”
A new trailer hit the web recently and it reveals all kinds of craziness, including adults turning into hotdogs, Transformers-like giant robots and James Spader surfing a wave of money. “That movie is going to be awesome; I’m really looking forward to it,” Bennett said.
The young actor plays Toe Thompson, a routinely bullied

Alexis Bledel, who played blue-eyed prostitute Becky in Sin City, says the next film will be a prequel.
The first film, in 2005, was an amalgam of three stories in Frank Miller's neo-noir graphic novel series and was a critical and commercial success.
Bledel, 27, told MTV: "Someone told us yesterday that there's a script. Apparently, [I'm] back because it's a prequel. [I'm] supposed to die in the first one. But you don't see it, so maybe she doesn't."
Director Robert Rodriguez has said the next film would combine the Sin City comic book tale A Dame To Kill For with brand-new storylines by Miller.
A Dame To Kill For is set before and during the events in the first movie, which ties in with Bledel saying the next film is a prequel.
The lead character in A Dame to Kill For is the femme fatale Ava Lord, with Angelina Jolie, Rose McGowan

France-based videogame maker Ubisoft Entertainment Sa, with a studio in Montreal, is now set to open a Toronto studio later this year, reportedly creating 800 jobs over 10 years, according to the Ontario Liberal government. Ontario will invest $263 million over 10 years in the company, with Ubisoft expected to invest over half a billion. Meanwhile, according to reports from Big Game Hunter, the Montreal studio of Ubisoft continues collaborating with Canadian film director James "Aliens" Cameron on a new game crafted as an extension of his upcoming tent-pole feature Avatar. "Ubisoft didn't want to just put something flashy on the screen," said Cameron. "They wanted a soul behind the videogame...the world of the Avatar game is, in some ways, considerably richer than what you are going to see in the film." "We are learning from the best," said Yannis Mallet, head of Ubisoft's Montreal studio. "The film and videogame industries are on

The Arrival has rode 15 years of home video and word of mouth success after a brief theatrical run seemingly no one, yours truly included, has any recollection of. At the time of its release, star Charlie Sheen was on the tail end of his once thriving theatrical career including Major League and Wall Street prior to a small screen resurgence stemming from roles on Sin City and Two and a Half Men. Its director, now instantly recognizable David Twohy, was helming his first film with a direct-to-video budget and, for the time, fairly complicated CGI special effects shots to manage. All odds pointed for it to be long forgotten and irrelevant by the year 2009. My relationship with The Arrival has been at arm's length since first learning of its low profile existence. Throughout the years various friends have recommended it as a solid sci-fi thriller on DVD and I will take note,

Alexis Bledel, that blue-eyed badgirl from Sin City recently talked to MTV News about the long, long, awaited sequel to Robert Rodriguez’s cinematic recreation of Frank Miller’s gritty, noir graphic novel series. Bledel didn’t know much, but had heard a rumor that a script for Sin City 2 was floating around and that her character, Becky, was in it.
But wait, Becky got capped at the very end of Sin City…
And so the plot thickens.
That was my best “noir lead-in,” like it?
Seriously though, Bledel didn’t spill much more than the fact that the script she’d heard about would require her to essentially come back from the dead - unless of course the new batch of yarns being spun in Sin City 2 take place Before the ones in Sin City 1.
But unless you’re a big fan of the Sin City graphic novels (or paid really,

A representative for Holly Madison has put the brake on report of her rekindling romance with ex-boyfriend, illusionist Criss Angel. "There is no truth whatsoever to the story that she is back with Criss. Not sure where it came from or why but they haven't been in contact for months," the rep tells Hollyscoop.
On July 1, Star Magazine reported Holly began seeing Criss again ever since she moved to Sin City earlier this summer to replace Melanie Brown and Kelly Monaco as the new star of the famed "Peepshow" at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Criss was also said performing at the same venue.
Strengthening the claim, the publication also quoted an unnamed source as confirming, "Holly still had feelings for Criss, so around mid-June she gave him a call. She was thrilled when he asked to meet for drinks. They've seen each other a few times since!" No direct

"Sin City" actress Alexis Bledel has acknowledged the script for "Sin City 2" is completed and claimed that the movie is going to be a prequel. Talking to MTV News, the 27-year-old believes that the second movie could be a prequel after she found out that her character will make a return in the sequel.
"I don't know what their source was, but they said they read the second script," Bledel first addressed on the saying that the script for the sequel has been finished. The actress who plays a young prostitute named Becky then added, "Apparently, [I'm] back because it's a prequel. Because [I'm] supposed to die in the first one. But you don't see it, so maybe she doesn't."
The prequel scenes may likely come from Frank Miller's "A Dame to Kill For", which has been long rumored to be adapted into big screen. The novel itself tells an

Though she’s not sure when the film will move forward, actress Alexis Bledel has been told that the script for “Sin City 2” is complete and that this one is going to be a prequel, at least as far as her character is concerned.
“Someone told us yesterday that there’s a script,” Bledel’s “Post Grad” co-star Zach Gilford told MTV News during a chat with the pair.
“I don’t know what their source was,” added Alexis, “but they said they read the second script. … Apparently, [I’m] back because it’s a prequel. Because [I’m] supposed to die in the first one. But you don’t see it, so maybe she doesn’t.”
The prequel part is, most likely, a segment that adapts Frank Miller’s long-rumored-for-the-big-screen “A Dame to Kill For”. Director Robert Rodriguez previously stated that the sequel would blend old “Sin City” stories with all-new yarns by Miller.

Holly Madison and illusionist Criss Angel are lovers for one more time. The pair who broke up earlier this year is claimed to have rekindled their love relationship.
According to Star Magazine, Holly began seeing Criss again ever since she moved to Sin City earlier this summer to replace Melanie Brown and Kelly Monaco as the new star of the famed "Peepshow" at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Criss himself also performs at the same venue.
"Holly still had feelings for Criss, so around mid-June she gave him a call," a source tells Star. "She was thrilled when he asked to meet for drinks. They've seen each other a few times since!"
Holly Madison, who is best known as one of Playboy boss Hugh Hefner's girlfriends, began dating Criss Angel in October 2008. In February this year, they were reported splitting up despite the fact that they have met each other's parents.
