Constant smoking from adults and younger characters, as well as a good deal of casual drinking. Marijuana is smoked by teenagers and two characters are seen using cocaine in one scene. One character is said to be a heroin user and has an overdose which he later dies from.

Many scenes of family turmoil, some of them resulting in physical altercations, are intense.
