Typical Saturday night rubbish
chris_gaskin1231 November 2004
Love On A Saturday Night was the replacement for Blind Date when Cilla Black quit. It was axed after just after a few episodes due to low audiences, which was not surprising as I found this show a load of rubbish. One episode was enough for me.

Hosted by Davina McCall, it was a little different from Blind Date and covered other aspects of romance, including interviewing couples who had been together a lot of years. One silly round had potential dates wearing different coloured masks for some strange reason.

This show is typical of the rubbish that is screened on Saturday nights and I was pleased when it was axed. Problem is that it has been replaced by more rubbish shows.

Staggeringly underrated game show - it was AXED!

I can't believe that this great show only ran for two months. After its last screening in April 2004 I noticed it hadn't been on for quite some time but mum kept telling me, "they're probably making a new series, that takes time, my love." But sometimes last month, either that or the month before, I found out that it was axed - AXED???!!! I was devastated! It was the only Saturday night TV Show worth watching for me. It was the only game-show that wasn't too bigheaded and it also resembled a classic Saturday program that recently, from that date, finished its long run of 17 years. I just know they'll never bring back "Love on a Saturday Night" - just like they'll never bring back "Blind Date" - although that show stopped because it's legendary host Cilla Black quitted and it wouldn't be right to replace her, nothing to do with lack of popularity. Oh well! Cest la vie
