Host:
I only met Martin Luther King on a few occasions but I was always struck by the obvious force, the power of his character which is clearly what the Civil Rights movement needed at that point.

Amazing Series! I'm watching it right now and he's in to the 1960's...its amazing all the things this Reporter saw and did, the people he met and the events he covered. Walter Cronkite reminds us that a reporter is there to cover the 'first draft' of History...and thru both his memories and reports he gives a perspective on the 20th century. A great series to watch for both historical perspective and hints at 'behind the scenes' working of the changing news culture (Print, Radio, TV) of the 20th century.
Of special notice watch his World War II memories, its amazing to watch the war unfold in the eyes of a young reporter...here is the 20th century remembered by a man that witnessed great events. Learn from it.
