Factual errors: Walter Cronkite makes note that his daughter Kathy played Patty Hearst in Network (1976). This is not exactly correct, Kathy Cronkite actually played Mary Anne Gifford, a character very much like Hearst.

Quotes:
Host:
[about FDR] With his radio talks and his fireside chats he brought all Americans into the White House. At the times I saw him, at his informal news conferences, he could be tough with questioning reporters but he usually ended the exchange with a wide grin or with a hearty laugh. He seemed to say, in the manner of a sporting man, 'Well tried, sir'

Amazing Series! I'm watching it right now and he's in to the 1960's...its amazing all the things this Reporter saw and did, the people he met and the events he covered. Walter Cronkite reminds us that a reporter is there to cover the 'first draft' of History...and thru both his memories and reports he gives a perspective on the 20th century. A great series to watch for both historical perspective and hints at 'behind the scenes' working of the changing news culture (Print, Radio, TV) of the 20th century.
Of special notice watch his World War II memories, its amazing to watch the war unfold in the eyes of a young reporter...here is the 20th century remembered by a man that witnessed great events. Learn from it.
