On DVD, two versions of this thriller were released: the well-known theatrical version and an Unrated version, that runs approx. 5 and a half minutes longer. But even though it's labelled as Unrated, one can only find several unspectacular plot extensions and there are only two short scenes that are a bit raunchier. A detailed comparison between both versions with pictures can be found here.

Winston Boyko is killed by LaRoche when he is shot through his car window.

Jane is shot and killed during the gunfight at the end of the movie. Dexter is also killed in the gunfight.

Charles kills LaRoche using the shank (make-shift knife) Winston gave to him.

Winston mentions that he killed someone but this isn't elaborated on.

It is also revealed that LaRoche had killed three other people.

Schine finds out that Lucinda was actually LaRoche's girlfriend and working together with him and Dexter the whole time. He confronts them in the hotel out of which they operate as they're setting up another mark. A gunfight breaks out and Dexter and Lucinda are both killed. Schine recovers all the money he lost in the scam, but is then caught having embezzled $10,000 from his company as one of the payoffs. Sentenced to community service, he teaches a class of inmates at the state prison. Reading a homework assignment, it's revealed that this story (shown being written at the start of the movie) is a recounting of all the events that took place in the movie, written by LaRoche, Schine finds LaRoche waiting for him in the laundry room, wanting to kill Schine. But Schine kills LaRoche instead using Winston's shank. Detective Church knows that Schine brought the shank in to the prison and planned out the killing of LaRoche, but lets him go and keeps quiet about it because he also knows LaRoche killed Winston, who Church loved like a younger brother and who died trying to help Schine. The movie ends with Schine's young daughter, Amy, doing well on a new kidney thanks to new anti-rejection medication, and now able to attend public school, leaving the house to catch the school bus.
