Kylie Joins Earthquake Actioner ‘San Andreas’

12 June 2014 8:57 AM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

She opted not to return for series four of The Voice UK and now it appears she’s trading vocal coaching for tectonic scorching as Kylie Minogue has signed up to appear in San Andreas.  It’s easy to forget she’s an actress, but Kylie has dabbled with movies over the past three decades, with roles in The Delinquents, Street Fighter and Moulin Rouge. Her last high profile acting job was alongside David Tennant in the Doctor Who festive special Voyage Of The Damned. If this is an attempt to crack Hollywood or whether she’s merely cropping up remains to be seen. The Us-set film is actually being shot in Australia, which may also explain her involvement.

Stars Dwayne Johnson and Carla Gugino play estranged but clearly resourceful parents, who undertake the world’s most perilous road trip to rescue their daughter when a superquake hits California. Is »

Big Brother: Watch Pauline's music video with Kylie Minogue

5 June 2014 2:31 PM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - TV news news »

When we found out that new Big Brother housemate Pauline had a previous life as a popstar, we couldn't resist digging up her music video with Kylie Minogue for 'Shocked'. And boy, are we glad we did.

We're not going to pretend that Pauline - sorry, Jazzi P - is a massive part of the promo. You have to sit through a lot of scantily clad Kylie before you get to her (that may or may not be a good thing, depending on your taste). But when Pauline pops up behind a massive keyhole, we basically cheered.

The whole thing is so gloriously '90s that we're basically digging out our Walkmans, getting our Smash Hits stash out of the attic and waving our glow sticks in the air. As if that wasn't enough, there's also a spectacular performance from Top of the Pops.

Happy Birthday, Kylie Minogue: Which Decade of Kylie Do You Prefer?

28 May 2014 1:00 PM, PDT | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

Seemingly ageless, diminutive Australian pop star Kylie Minogue turns 46 May 28. Minogue's path to international stardom (which has included an appointment as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2008 by Queen Elizabeth for "services to music") began in 1987 with her version of Gerry Goffin and Carole King's "The Loco-Motion." That means we're coming up on 30 years of Kylie, making this the perfect time to revisit some of our favorites from Ms. Minogue's career. "The Loco-Motion," (1987) Minogue's version of "The Loco-Motion" spent seven weeks at No. 1 on the Australian singles charts and became the country's highest-selling single of the 1980s, »

The Essential Kylie Minogue: Ranking Her Top Ten Tracks

28 May 2014 11:03 AM, PDT | The Backlot | See recent The Backlot news »

Kylie Minogue has been a star since her teen years on Australia’s Neighbours, but when she branched out into pop music, who knew that she would become a worldwide best-selling superstar?

Today is her 46th birthday, so let’s celebrate one of our greatest allies and icons by ranking her greatest songs. Do you prefer late 80′s “Wouldn’t Change A Thing” Kylie, or “Timebomb” Kylie? Or something in between?

Here’s a good way to start your Essential Kylie Collection.

10. It’S No Secret

Year: 1988

Album: Kylie

Chart Peak: #37

Kylie’s fab debut yielded three top forty singles on the Billboard Hot 100, and while I don’t think “Locomotion” has aged well, the other two are still fresh and fun. “It’s No Secret” is a sweet ballad about a cheating bastard.

9. Love At First Sight

Year: 2002

Album: Fever

Chart Peak: #23

Delirious “Fever” dream, it pulsates and shimmers with giddy delight. »

Asked by Carr about a return, Minogue said: "Not next season. I'll know that I'll miss it. When the next series comes around, I'll be watching like all of you guys."

Carr replied: "So your tour finishes in November. What if the BBC jiggled around some filming dates? They did it for Jessie J, they could do it for you."

Minogue said: "Well... I just can't go back next season as I am on tour, but the season after that... it's an open book. Let's see."

Kylie Minogue shows off 'Sexercise' skills with Alan Carr

16 May 2014 4:34 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - TV news news »

Kylie Minogue shows off her 'sexercise' skills in tonight's Chatty Man (May 16).

The singer teaches host Alan Carr how to properly train using the workout balls, as used in her recent risque 'Sexercize' video.

"It's probably best that you check the bounce in your ball first," Kylie jokes at the beginning of their lesson.

The Voice UK coach then displayed her sexercise techniques, including rhythmic bounces, thrusts, rolls and kicks.

Carr - dressed in skimpy white shorts and red high heels - completes his training admirably despite admitting to a tequila beforehand.

Sir Ian McKellen and BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw will also appear on tonight's Chatty Man, to air at 10pm on Channel 4.

From Katy Perry to Britney: Rank Covers of Madonna's 'Vogue'

8 May 2014 6:20 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

First, the good news: Madonna's "Vogue" is still the definitive '90s dance classic, and I don't care about your counterarguments even if you're defending "Groove is in the Heart," "No Scrubs," "This is How We Do It," "Baby Got Back," or whatever. It's all about "Vogue." No song has more attitude, authority, winking self-absorption, and sheer dancefloor chutzpah. No song is gayer either, which helps. Anyway, the bad news: Katy Perry used a snippet of "Vogue" on her newest tour. Ugggggghhhhhh. Just because you do most of your dancing with your hands doesn't mean you are entitled to vogue. Check out the small Madonna tribute here. Of Madonna's huge hits, "Vogue" is probably the one that her most diehard fans tend to love most. It is the most Madonna of Madonna songs. It is the most "Love yourself as you worship me." As a fellow worshipper of the Lourdes, »

It's the biggest night in Australian TV, with reality shows, comedy and heavyweight drama all vying for the big prizes. Join us as we find out who's sweeping the board and who's going home empty-handed

11.28pm Aest

It's ended! Twitter can now go to rest, knowing that it did its job: howling in 140-character chunks at no one in particular about a thing we could all just be watching in silence.

Thanks for sharing and commenting below if you did. It kept Alex and myself from tearing our fingernails out.

11.22pm Aest

The credits are there. This is definitely, somehow ending. And yet they're still broadcasting. Do I have to blog this bit? Do I have to live blog the hedonism of the television industry as I sit here with my left leg that's now got moss growing on the inside?

It's official. Scott Cam's got the biggest deck in Australia. »

Ricky Wilson has revealed that he is unsure about whether he will return to The Voice UK.

The Kaiser Chiefs frontman joined the BBC One talent show as a coach this year, along with Kylie Minogue.

Following Minogue's departure, Wilson told The Sun that he is yet to be invited back for a second series, but that he will have "a lunch" with producers soon.

"I haven't been asked yet, for a start," he said. "People keep telling me rumours of who might join the panel and I'm not sure there'd be a space for me. It would definitely depend on the coaches."

Hinting that he may not want a return, he said: "It would be weird doing it without Kylie. She helped get me over the edge.

"Kylie, Tom Jones and will.i.am were a huge part of the experience. If I do it again I will definitely miss her. »
