Hill Harper wants the best for his son, so if that means running around Manhattan on a search for breast milk, he’s game.

Monte Carlo TV Festival Hosts World Premieres: ‘Absentia,’ ‘The Last Tycoon’

14 June 2017 9:00 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Faced with increased rivalry from nearby Cannes, the Monte Carlo Television Festival is pulling out all the stops this year with two world premieres of hotly anticipated Hollywood shows as “Absentia” and “The Last Tycoon,” will grace the Grimaldi Forum red carpet.

Long known as a glitzy launching pad for high-end global TV fiction and a celebration of top notch news content — the festival celebrates 57 years with this edition — the competitive event is seemingly undeterred by announced plans for yet another ambitious TV fest, called Cannes Series, that is slated to run concurrent with Mip. Expected to launch next year in Cannes, of course, which is about an hour’s drive down the Cote d’Azur.

Monte Carlo itself runs June 16-20 — shortly after the L.A. Screenings in May.

“We are very fortunate to have the shows that we are screening,” says fest CEO Laurent Puons. Monte Carlo historically runs in “a perfect time slot for »

6 Women of Color in Supporting Roles Who Deserve to Star on Their Own Shows

25 May 2017 5:11 PM, PDT | Indiewire Television | See recent Indiewire Television news »

TV trends come and go, but who would’ve thought that, with all the focus on inclusion in the past few years, there would now be an uptick of, as IndieWire’s Michael Schneider puts it, “white dudes in crisis” on TV?

To fill the diversity void, the networks have added actors of color to supporting roles. It’s heartening to see that this has created a more realistic picture on TV of what the world looks like, such as the marriage between Zach Braff’s and Tiya Sircar’s characters on “Alex Inc.” representing the growing number of mixed-race marriages in America. Unfortunately, it’s also disappointing to see so many of these favorite actresses get shunted from one supporting role to the next.

The Biggest Reason You Recognize Fp on Riverdale

12 May 2017 3:30 PM, PDT | POPSUGAR | See recent BuzzSugar news »

Image Source: The CW Riverdale is loaded with the best young talent Hollywood has to offer, but the parental figures are nothing to sneeze at, either. Of course they're all wildly attractive, but they're also all veteran actors. Luke Perry, aka Fred Andrews, is a TV legend thanks to Beverly Hills, 90210. Mädchen Amick, aka Alice Cooper, got her start on Twin Peaks. But what about Fp Jones? You know that face from somewhere. Of course you do - he's played by the forever sexy Skeet Ulrich. Ulrich broke onto the scene in the late '90s with roles in teen hits like The Craft and Boys. It was his portrayal of Billy Loomis in the original Scream, however, that solidified his place in pop culture history. Image Source: Miramax After his breakout role, he appeared in films like As Good as It Gets and The Newton Boys. He starred in the 2003 series Miracle, »

Walk of Fame Honoree Gary Sinise Goes Above and ‘Beyond’ for Veterans

17 April 2017 10:00 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

The first time Gary Sinise came to Los Angeles to visit his family, his mother insisted on taking him to Hollywood Boulevard. “She wanted me to see the stars on the Walk of Fame and Grauman’s Theater,” recalls Sinise, whose father, a film editor, left Chicago in the mid-’70s for California. “I remember walking down there and seeing the names on the Walk of Fame and the handprints at Grauman’s. It had a dreamlike quality.”

So how does the 62-year-old actor feel now that he’s receiving his own star on the Walk of Fame on April 17? “A little bit surreal,” he admits with a laugh. “But certainly very nice and flattered and honored.”

Though he’s an Oscar nominee who has also accumulated countless awards for his work on stage and the small screen, Sinise is unfailingly modest. He’ll mention he “started a theater company with my pals,” not »

NCIS Season 14 Episode 20 Review: A Bowl of Cherries

4 April 2017 10:24 PM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

What do ransomware, cryogenics, flip phones, family photos, and twelve-hour ribs have in common? Each played a role in NCIS Season 14 Episode 20.

It all started when a Navy admiral's personal laptop was compromised by the aforementioned ransomware. And yes, ransomware is unfortunately very real.

A relative of mine who works in information technology pointed out, however, that networks do not work that way; infecting one computer on a network will not magically infect all the computers on the network.

Otherwise, then all computers ever connected to the Internet would be constantly infected with malware all the time. (A lot of malware requires, for example, clinking on a link or opening a document.)

To be fair, the lack of understanding about how technology works isn't anything new for TV series like this.

We still laugh over an episode of CSI: New York in which an "access point" somehow broke through all »
