Home Beyond the Sun was introduced to me by my religious grandmother who recently discovered I have childhood wishes to adopt a Chinese baby. At the same time I just got a job babysitting a little girl from China. Strange how things work out. And strange that she thinks this little movie is so amazing. The plot is around a young student who moves far from her home to be a teacher. She meets a little Chinese girl where they begin a budding relationship. There are some interesting developments in the story and some subplots, but the acting is so terrible and cheesy, you just can't focus. It has a serious made for TV feel, with such an unbelievable ending that never comes soon enough. This is the most painful thing I have ever sat through. I really tried to like it since my grandma does so much, but I just can't.
