A short fan-film that tells the story of two rebels, Dante and Medusa, as they enter the virtual prison world of "The Matrix" to execute a carefully created plan of espionage, distraction and cat and mouse.
Two rebels - Dante & Medusa - working off the Zion ship "The Descartes" enter the virtual reality prison world of the Matrix to retrieve top-secret information. In order to escape the unstoppable Agents of the Matrix, they devise a plan known as the "Run Program". One rebel breaks into the target building and hacks their systems for the information while the other picks a fight in a bar and creates a distraction to draw the attention of the Agents. However things start to not work out exactly the way they had planned... Written by
The filmmakers created the movie as an experiment in low-budget, high-production-value filmmaking. The goal was to see what kind of "quality" could be produced without professional equipment. See more »
In certain shots of the Operator, you can see the edges of the Zion ship set and corridors and desks of the office building beyond in which the set has been built. See more »
This is probably the prodigy of all fan films. I've seen many, and the majority of them are awful. However, this was an exception. A beautifully done masterpiece.
I actually didn't hear about it until I was browsing IMDB. I came across the title, never heard of it before. Being a rabid Matrix fan, I immediately went in search of a download for it. I found it easily by just visiting their webpage.
The story is pretty brief. It's basically a side story of two side characters from the film moving on a side mission.
One great part about the film is that it's ran by experienced film makers (small or not). They got to do some work with the wires as well as a few special effects here and there. They obviously put loads of time working on this. They even filmed it in the same city of the first Matrix. Check out the site fanimatrix.net for more details on the making of. There's so much to it.
Don't watch it expecting a clone of The Matrix. Watch it expecting something new, but in the same style of the originals. Enjoy!
