Good info on the making of the movie
3 September 2004 | by (South Carolina USA) – See all my reviews

After watching this, it surprised me to learn the movie was filmed just a short distance from me in North Carolina. I never knew Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey really didn't get along, the chemistry on screen did not let on. The rainy scenes was actual weather conditions that they endured during the filming. As most of us southerners know, the weather in this area is fickle. They had to deal with temperature extremes, from "seeing your breath" cold, to "pass out" hot. And the Carolinas are infamous for their bugs (mosquitos)which bit cast and crew alike. Also it informed me that Cynthia Rhodes is married to Richard Marks, who is one of my favorite singers from the 80's, and is a full time mother now.

One day I hope to go to the actual location and see the grounds, (if they have it open to the public).
