Storyline
Plot Summary |
A mother-less boy, Mike (Fraser Stephen-Smith), and his older sister, Sandra (Josie Vendramini), are forced to move to a big town when their father's farming enterprise fails, and they are not happy about it. Almost immediately, on their doorstep, they get caught up in a major jewel theft. This was originally an eight-episode Children's television series, "Steel Riders", made in New Zealand; soon after being aired internationally, it was edited together and unfortunately reduced in length to make a VHS video movie in the USA, re-titled "Young Detectives On Wheels". The main casualty in the movie edit relates to the sub-plot of the BMX boys trying to save their track from redevelopment, as well as general scenes in which Mike and Sandra try to establish themselves in new surroundings.
