Storyline

A satirical fable on the clash of rural idealism and urban amorality, exemplified by a recklessly ambitious newspaper intern. The conniving small-town would-be reporter ultimately commits a most dastardly act in the name of a juicy story. By testing the limits of taste and decency, she unwittingly gains entry into Gotham's seedy world of tabloid journalism. Written by Shira Zimbeck

very funny, very dark
11 January 2007 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This was very funny. The writing was crisp, and the acting was over the top. What a slightly savage viewpoint the author has. I can't wait to see the next script she turns out. Shira and Jason had good rapport--you could almost fee the ice between them. I loved the back and forth between them in the boardroom. I also especially loved Harold, with his droll take on work and his attempts to retire. The plot movement was fluid, so that when Shira picked the cat up and through it into to well to "make news" I burst out laughing. How well that parallels what I sometimes perceive is the real newsroom. I'd love to see this expanded even further.
