Miami Vendetta is an '80s cop thriller that seems to have been shot on the cheap by a group of amateur film enthusiasts based in Los Angeles. Certainly it's one of the cheapest action films I can remember watching from that decade, and sadly with the lack of budget also comes a lack of talent. This is very much your bog standard detective film let down by a complete lack of money and talent, so much so that it's difficult to watch.
I do appreciate that the director was working with almost no resources and that the cast members simply weren't up to the job. But why even try? It's obvious that the staged action sequences will be laughable rather than exciting or that the script will be derivative at every stage. The tale is about a vengeful cop going after some Cuban drug dealers, but 90% of the running time is mere talk and repetition. There are a few gruesome moments but with this little money behind it, Miami Vendetta was never going to be any good.
