Documentary filmmaker Jeffrey Gold explores the Thera (Santorini) eruption of 1628 B.C., an eruption that had greater impact on the annals of world history than the eruptions of Mounts Aetna or Vesuvius. The eruption impacted the entire Eastern Mediterranean region and caused the new kingdom of Egypt to wrest control from the Hittites, the principal occupiers of the region before the eruption. The documentary is based on the researches of archaeologist and anthropologist Dr. Richard Lyon Daly on the Shah-Nameh, the king-lists of ancient Persia, and other evidences. Written by
