Storyline

The legends tells the story of how the Toa came to be, chosen from the pool of Matoran youth in the great city of Metru Nui and, though physically transformed, hardly prepared for increased size and super heroic powers. Now in short order, the Toa--who babble and bicker like agitated adolescents--have to master their new gifts, impress their leader, and prepare to protect their home. Trivia

Matau's flirtatious advances towards Nokama have been declared non-canon by the official Bionicle story writer, as according to him, the characters aren't capable of feeling romantic love. These were just gags used for the movie. See more »

Goofs

The CG animation appears to be unfinished in quite a few shots throughout the movie. At times, the objects or the camera move choppy, as if the shot wasn't rendered correctly. Sometimes the screen pixelates, even though it isn't that noticeable. However other errors, like the characters' mouths not moving while talking or their bodies completely freezing to a still state after completing a set of motions clearly indicate the faulty nature of the film's animation. Crazy Credits

During the credits, the masks and heads of all the major characters (except for Krekka) are shown slowly fading into and out of view. See more »

as good as the 1st one,all things considered
10 June 2007 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

this second movie in the "Bionicle" series of movies is as good as the 1st one.the story is better, and there is more going on.also, the action is more intense and their is some humour here, which the 1st one didn't have.the animation is maybe a bit better, and the villain is a stronger, more developed character,at least i thought so.however, there are a few too many wise proverbs for my taste.after awhile it gets preachy and repetitive.the message of believing in yourself and "the journey of discovery" mantra, though a good message,is a bit heavy handed.this movie has not much to do with the 1st one.the characters are new,but similar to the previous movie.this movie is intended for a slightly older audience than the original, and there's nothing wrong with that.anyway,as i said, despite some problems, this movie is as good as the 1st one.to that end,i give "Bionicle 2:Legends of Metru-Nui" a 7/10
