The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Frequent moderate to strong sex references throughout the series, including discussions about sex, oral and anal sex, masturbation, pornography, and threesomes or group sex.

In earlier seasons, we see women topless on occasion. In some later seasons, particularly season 7, topless women become much more of a regular occurrence, appearing in most episodes. Additional nudity shown in the series includes a brief background shot of male genitalia on a porn set (in one episode), full frontal female nudity including the pubic/vaginal region while skinny dipping (in one episode), and lots of bare bottoms throughout.

Sex scenes are fairly infrequent, but happen on many different occasions throughout the series. They do not include graphic detail such as penetration, but fully display thrusting and moaning, bare breasts of women, and both male and female bare bottoms.

Lloyd is a homosexual, and Ari frequently berates him and insults him in an aggressive, but humorous way, often using crass language and sexual remarks.

Characters will occasionally get into scuffles with lots of punching and shoving, but these are infrequent and are mostly mild in impact, apart from one briefly intense fistfight at the end of season 7 that leaves Vince visibly battered.

A character commits suicide off-screen. No blood or anything graphic, but we hear the gunshot.

Some staged violence is shown, within the context of Vince's films.

Occasional threatening situations, or non-graphic references to violence.

There are usually at least 20 uses of "fuck" per episode, sometimes more.

Frequent use of other moderate language, such as "dick", "pussy", "shit", "bitch", "ass", "asshole", "tits", "cock", and "goddamn".

The word "cunt" is used several times throughout the series, but very infrequently. The word "cocksucker" is also used infrequently, as well as discriminatory language such as "faggot".

Use of alcohol and marijuana is VERY frequent throughout. Characters also smoke cigarettes and cigars.

One episode involves eating mushrooms and tripping, in order to find an answer to a difficult life decision Vince must make.

In season 7, Vince develops a Vicodin and cocaine addiction, and both of these are shown and discussed.

Brief scuffles and fistfights.

Despite not being frightening or intense, the content may be viewed as offensive, and is best suited to a mature audience.

Overall suggested MPAA rating: R for strong sexual content and some graphic nudity, pervasive language, and for drug use throughout.
