Storyline

In this sitcom, the suddenly risen film star Vince Chase, a 'jeune premier' of humble origins, learns the ropes of the business and the the high-profile world of the wealthy happy few in and around Hollywood, but not alone: he brings from his native New York his atypical 'entourage (hence the title), not glitterati or professionals but a close circle of friends since childhood, and his professional agent finds they often make his job harder as the Queens boys not only sponge on the star but also have his ear, so Vince is much harder to counsel. Vince chooses his friend from home Eric as his manager, and LA professional Ari Gold as his agent. Over the course of the Series, they progress from kids from Queens, to actors, to producers and chase the funding and support to try to make the perfect movie for Vincent. Written by KGF Vissers

Trivia

"Medellin" and its bad reception by critics and audience has a lot of similarities to Southland Tales (2006). Both movies were big projects directed by directors (Billy Walsh and Richard Kelly), who had a huge success with an indie-flick (Queens Boulevard and Donnie Darko (2001)) that had a huge fanbases. Both movies were first screened at Cannes and a huge buzz was created about them. After they were screened, they both received bad reviews (Southland Tales (2006) scored the lowest reviews for the 2006 Cannes Film Festival, averaging 1.1 out of 5) and bad audience reaction. Additionally, Southland Tales (2006) went straight-to-dvd in many countries, just like "Medellin". See more »

Quotes

Ari Gold: Emily! I want you to go to that party on Saturday, represent the agency, let Vince know that my army's everywhere.
Emily: Ari, I really don't want to get in the middle of this.
Ari Gold: You are in the middle of this whether you like it or not, okay? You want to be a hero? You want a medal, or are you a coward?
[Emily looks away]
Ari Gold: Knock off the hippie shit, strap on a helmet, and start shooting. This is Malibu, Emily, I want you to storm that beach like it's fucking Normandy!

Glamorous show - most importantly it's intelligent and good-hearted fun
19 July 2004 | by (NYC) – See all my reviews

I know that the show has only started however I must comment on this show. It's realistically innovative as it takes four friends from N.Y., one who happens to be an actor w/ the other three along for the ride. It really gives an insight as to what actors nowadays go through as far as roles taken and career moves - not to mention a reaction off of a bad review from a critic. With that said all of the characters are likable but so far it's Kevin Connolly and Dillon who are standing out so far, the other two play their parts respectively well and I'm hoping this show does well as I'm already treating it with the same respect as I'd treat The Wire and The Sopranos...

Entourage is a lot of fun for the one episode I've seen, I plan to watch more of it as well...
