Not the best, yet somehow interesting just like its predecessors

Warning: Spoilers
Bloody Roar: The first Bloody Roar was unique, original and really quite interesting. The characters were very good and extremely developed during the story.8/10

Bloody Roar 2: The best in the series in my own opinion. The story was great, the action was really a remembering experience and extremely fascinating. Bakaru really kicks trash, same with Yugo.9/10

Bloody Roar 3: No, this is not the bloody roar series I knew. This was the worst in the series and extremely low quality if any. The characters looked amazing and great... when they are KO . Not the best. 5/10

Bloody Roar 4: Well... it is okay in its own self-controllable way. The characters had really great graphics and its about time they made the series M rated. Yet we gamers want more than blood and a lot of violence. We would love a great story like BR2. Some new characters greeted us with some interesting expressions such as Nagi. We fortunately get to see some familiar faces, such Yugo, Alice and Godo. I just wish the game had a little more depth and a more updated and successful arcade. Nevertheless, it is so much better than BR3. 7/10

Doesn't stand a Fighting chance
Trigger_Switch27 September 2006
Warning: Spoilers
For this latest installment in the Bloody Roar series, Bloody Roar 4 leaves the gamer with just one question. Why. For those who have played the previous release, Primal Fury for the Gamecube, you should just avoid this game all together. While the graphics are just as stunning, they do not make up for bad gameplay and horrible new characters. The newbies for this game are Reji the crow, Mana and Ryoho, Ryoho the dragon, and Nagi the Spurious. A funny little thing with Reji is that in a certain level, using/fighting him will make the game lag. A problem that has NEVER been present in previous games I assure you, I've played/owned them all. Most of the new characters are very bland, mostly there to look pretty instead of adding some sort of interesting story to the series. The combos don't change much, so the fighting doesn't seem to terribly different. Though now there is a new Beast Gauge which isn't as much of an advantage as the makers would like to believe. An addition that I actually enjoyed was the Career mode. Mainly since you get the option of choosing your own character and going through a few dozen fights, unlocking new techniques and able to customize your characters fighting abilities. It was still too short and repetitive, though funner then arcade mode.

Bottom line, this game was a major let down. If people want to try their hand at the Bloody Roar series, try Bloody Roar Primal Fury for GameCube if you can.

Claw to Claw action... put the animals to sleep?

I always liked the Bloody Roar series. I was pretty dissapointed with the forth installment.

Bloody Roar 3 and Primal Fury were great! This one kind of upset me. Maybe it's trying to compete with Vitra FIghter and Soul Calibur 2. The game isn't bad itself.

New characters are in it like a crow morph and so on.

It's a fun game, but too me.. it wasn't worth buying. This would be a decent game rental for the weekend or if you have some friends over.

I did enjoy some of the new characters.
