Nice concept, poorly executed., 21 January 2014
Author: Amer Khalaf from Saudi Arabia

The concept of this show is brilliant, and it's for all kinds of people, whether they like airplanes and flying or not, it's executed poorly though. The acting in the early seasons is… I can't even call it "acting", you can hear the "pilots" saying V1 and all of a sudden the aircraft takes off. The cockpits used in some of the episodes is awful. The sound effects (Flaps, gear…etc.) is horrible, you can get a better sound effects in a computer simulator, or even in a game which is disappointing. I wish they did not voice act the CVR recordings or the ATC communications, at least not in every episode.

The show actually helps people to overcome their fear of air traveling because at the end of most of the episodes you can see what they did to prevent accidents from the same cause, and you can see that most of the accidents happened ages ago.

The use of soundtracks is nice most of the times. The crew, passengers and the experts interviews are well made. Most of times the show presents rare footage (at least it's not easy to find them when simply searching the flight number).

If you didn't already knew what happened in the flight, and you skipped the first part of the show where they show you what's coming next in the episode, it gets exciting, and it's always nice when you find out that every one came out alive.

For a man who likes aviation, this show deserves 10/10 because simply it's not easy to find a TV show that talks aviation (At least in my country), but the acting and the sound effects keeps me from doing that. If you like aviation this show is for you, if you fear flying... the show might help.
