Jenna Fischer Details Years of Rejection Before Landing 'The Office' in New Book

Jenna Fischer, the Emmy-nominated star who brought Pam Beesly to life on the NBC comedy The Office, was not cast in her breakout role overnight. It took eight "grueling years” and plenty of rejection before she landed a part on the hit show that would go on to air for nine seasons.

In her new book, The Actor’s Life: A Survival Guide, Fischer details the highs (crashing an SNL party) and lows (riding a Jurassic Park water ride for 12 hours straight as an extra) of her journey to becoming a fan-favorite on a network television show.

Movie Review: Last Flag Flying Review

  • CinemaNerdz
Dialogue in film can be tricky. Whether the screenwriter is trying to lay out exposition or have an emotional moment between two characters, the nuances of screenwriting are understandably crucial to a successful film. That is why most of Richard Linklater’s films are almost always successful. The man behind the “Before” trilogy (Before Sunrise [1995], Before Sunset [2004], and Before Midnight [2013]), Dazed and Confused (1993), Everybody Wants Some!! (2016), and one of the decade’s best films, Boyhood (2014), has a talent for creating entertaining and thoughtful movies that feature essentially just people talking. His characters walk through the streets of Vienna talking about their lives (Before Sunrise), talk at parties on the weekend leading up to the first day of a college semester (Everybody Wants Some!!), and talk about what they want to see in the newest Star Wars movie around a campfire (Boyhood). Linklater is the master of creating natural dialogue between

Rampage, A Quiet Place, and more got new trailers this week!Rampage, A Quiet Place, and more got new trailers this week!Amanda Wood11/17/2017 4:39:00 Pm

A huge variety of new trailers dropped this week, and they all look crazy good. There’s everything from new Dwayne Johnson to John Krasinski’s directorial debut to a Hugh Jackman musical. Read on to get the best of this week’s trailers!

We firstly want to mention the first trailer for Rampage, based on the ‘80s arcade game of the same name and starring Dwayne Johnson. The Rock plays a scientist-type who finds himself battling horrifically mutated giant animals, including the albino gorilla he rescued from the wild. This is 100% as wild as it sounds, and we honestly think the trailer speaks for itself. Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Naomie Harris also star. Catch Rampage in Cineplex theatres April 20th.

If horror is your thing,

Let Us never Forget That Idris Elba was on The Office: Top Five Moments

We can’t forget that Idris Elba was on the Office. In fact he had some of the funniest moments on the show that you might remember. It’s kind of hard to believe that he was on the show since it honestly doesn’t seem like the type of place you’d see someone of his caliber. But hey, everyone’s got to put in their work now and again and sometimes shows really benefit from having a big star on their roster. Plus it would honestly seem that he was still making his rise in the industry at the time that he was

“Silence is Survival” in the Teaser Trailer for A Quiet Place, Starring Emily Blunt and John Krasinski

  • DailyDead
Its synopsis simply reads "if they can’t hear you, they can’t hunt you," and if you watch the captivating teaser trailer for A Quiet Place, that's all you need to know.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world that's seemingly been ravaged by monsters attracted by sound, A Quiet Place was directed and co-written by John Krasinski who also co-stars alongside Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe, and Millicent Simmonds.

Reminiscent of horror author Tim Lebbon's The Silence, A Quiet Place is teased in its tense first trailer ahead of its April 6th, 2018 release from Paramount Pictures. This marks the third feature film behind the camera for Krasinski, who directed Brief Interviews with Hideous Men and The Hollars, as well as three episodes of The Office, on which he played the iconic character of Jim Halpert. Stay tuned to Daily Dead for more updates on A Quiet Place and watch the teaser trailer below,

John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place Co-Starring Emily Blunt Gets Spooky Teaser Trailer

I’m a big fan of actor-turned-director John Kransinki. I’ve seen every episode of “The Office” at least 5 times apiece as I binge watch the series at least once every two years. At least. I’m also a fan of his wife, actress Emily Blunt, after seeing her co-star in the romantic comedy The Five-Year Engagement with […]

‘A Quiet Place’ Trailer: Emily Blunt and John Krasinski Stay Silent in Supernatural Thriller

After his overtly earnest drama The Hollars, John Krasinski seems to have taken a few notes from the Blumhouse method for his next directorial effort. A Quiet Place, produced by Michael Bay, is a supernatural thriller following a family who is terrorized by some sort of outside force, but not much else is known about the plot.

The first trailer has now landed, which reveals what looks to be a dialogue-free film. Starring Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe and Wonderstruck‘s Millicent Simmonds, I’m looking forward to The Office star having a bit more fun with a genre effort, so hopefully he can pull of the restrictions he’s set for himself.

Check out the trailer below ahead of a spring release via Paramount.

A Quiet Place opens on April 6, 2018.

‘The Mindy Project’ Finale Proves Mindy Kaling Is Ready for Her ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ Gig

‘The Mindy Project’ Finale Proves Mindy Kaling Is Ready for Her ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ Gig
[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from “The Mindy Project” series finale, “It Had to Be You.”]

The Mindy Project” came to an end on Tuesday with its series finale, and every major character finds love or fulfillment in some form. Everything comes full circle with Dr. Mindy Lahiri (creator and star Mindy Kaling) fleeing from a wedding on a bicycle while wearing a sequined dress. But what a difference six seasons and countless boyfriends make. In the pilot, Mindy’s bike escape is sparked by going on a drunken rant at her ex’s wedding. In the finale, she’s peddling away from her good friend’s wedding into the arms of the man she loves.

Over the course of five years and two networks, Kaling refined her romantic comedy style, which ranged from irreverent and goofy to idealistic and contemplative. It hasn’t always been the most consistent, though, and season-to-season has ranged wildly in tone and execution. This was partially due to the network switch,

The feel-good procedural, from Monk creator Andy Breckman, centers on disgraced, former NYPD officer Tony Sr. (Danza) and his earnest, obsessively honest son — and current NYPD officer — Tony Jr. (Groban). This “odd couple” become unofficial partners as Tony Sr. offers his overly-cautious son blunt, street-wise advice on everything from handling suspects to handling women.

Ricky Gervais Opens Up About His 35-Year Love with Jane Fallon & How They Survived Tough Times
From enduring a desk job that eventually inspired The Office to hosting the Golden Globes four times, Ricky Gervais has had his girlfriend Jane Fallon at his side throughout his entire journey.

The couple of 35 years even survived living in cramped quarters in London following college graduation.

“Our first flat was a one room in a place called Kings Cross, which was a really rough area,” Gervais, 56, tells People’s Editor-in-Chief Jess Cagle in the latest episode of The Jess Cagle Interview (streaming now on People TV). “I think it was above some sort of seedy sauna . . . That’s all we could afford.
