Storyline

Manhunt is like a super-violent Truman Show. It is a very dark, disturbing and creepy video game. Most certainly NOT to be played by children or teenagers. There are no heroes here. Only villains. Not one single character is the type of person you'd want to run into a dark alley with. Including the main character. The game is filled with nothing but thugs, Neo-Nazi skinheads, psychopaths, corrupt police officers, lots of cursing, gore, and violence. The star of Manhunt is a serial killer on Death Row who goes by the name of James Earl Cash. On the day he's set to be executed, they take him to the chamber and he is then put to death....or was he? It turns out the "lethal injection" he received was nothing more then a strong sedative. In one of the first scenes, Cash wakes up in a locked dark hospital-like room, alive and well. Over the intercom a strange man's voice speaks to him and tells him to put on a wireless earpiece that is on a table next to him. He does this and then the voice... Written by Zeeboe82@aol.com

Trivia

Earlier concepts of the game were entirely in first person, had motion captured facial animations, which were later used in Manhunt 2 (2007). Some concept art also portrayed a very large city, much like the Assassination level in Manhunt 2 (2007). It was also in development for 8 years. See more »

Crazy Credits

After the credits finish rolling, a random segment of a children's television show plays briefly. Supposedly, this is to give the impression that Starkweather taped over the majority of the children's show with the snuff film footage of Cash's killings. See more »

Pretty Damn Good... But Some Flaws
7 December 2003 | by (Pennsylvania, U.S.A) – See all my reviews

ManHunt is a very good, gory game that I enjoyed very much, but it has some flaws, which I will list here:

1. When you have to fight somebody in hand-to-hand combat, the controls are sluggish and hard.

2.It is pretty hard to sneak around.

3. Confusing until you figure out what the hell is going on.

Now I will list the good points:

1. When you execute somebody using stealth, it is awesome.

2. Very cool main character.

3. Action-packed and thrilling.

4. Cool weapons and items.

And the list goes on and on...
