The female owner of a car repair and sales shop is killed. Clues lead to an orphanage with problem kids.
'Scene of the Crime' is one of my favorite detective drama series. Each episode is terrific with excellent storytelling, superb acting, and layered plotting. This particular story dealt with the murder of a millionaire woman, Miss Sylvester. Her husband, daughter, and a bunch of troubled juveniles living in a youth welfare house are under suspicion as well as a few other people. Along the way, another murder raises the tension as well as the suspicion among the characters involved. The show has always included a human psychological theme to the story, and this episode is no different. A viewer is kept guessing the identity of the killer until the very end. Commissioners Schenk and Ballaf are very likable characters, and the actors who portray them deliver excellent performances. In particular, I liked the performances of David and Winnie - a lot of empathy toward their characters, and you really are impacted by their story lines. Terrific overseas television show.
