Two years after Peter Chan’s award-winning Chinese/Hong Kong epic The Warlords, starring Jet Li, Andy Lau, and Takeshi Kaneshiro, was released in Asia a new trailer has appeared in anticipation of the film’s 2010 Us release.
Anybody who enjoys Chinese war epics is sure to like this film, which contains some of the most magnificently shot battle sequences ever seen. The Warlords is unlike Wuxia films such as Hero (staring Jet Li) and House of Flying Daggers (staring Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro) as it ditches fantasy martial arts in favor of intense, realistic violence. Plot: A heroic tale of three blood brothers and their struggle in the midst of war and political upheaval. It is based on “The Assassination of Ma” a Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) story about the killing of general Ma Xinyi.
