The story is rather weak on probability, but is well acted and has its measure of suspense. Its great short-coming is that the hero is made weak enough to be a thief when his parents need money and yet the picture's development tries to make us deem him innocent. The police and detective scenes are snappy, but we have seen plenty like them as good. - The Moving Picture World, December 6, 1913
