Fresh off its recent debut at Tribeca in NYC, Raze hit the French Riviera for Cannes and quickly landed North American distro with IFC Midnight. No release details are available yet, but we're sure to hear more once the dust settles.
Per Deadline, the deal for the film was negotiated by Jeff Deutchman, Director of Acquisitions & Productions for Sundance Selects/IFC Films, with Nate Bolotin of Xyz Films on behalf of the filmmakers. Celluloid Dreams is currently selling the film’s international rights at Cannes.
Jonathan Sehring, President of Sundance Selects/IFC Films, said: “Josh Waller has crafted the most intense and unique action film that we have seen in a long time. With the magnificent Zoe Bell leading a strong female cast, Raze delivers and then some. We can’t wait to unleash it upon audiences.”

Scream Factory is once again making the horror community collectively shriek with joy. Why? Well for starters, they’re releasing a Amityville Horror Trilogy Blu-ray Box Set. Fans had hoped & pleaded for a 3D Blu-ray release of Amityville Horror 3-D since that’s how it was released in theaters back in 1983. And that’s exactly what we’re getting!
News just broke from their official Facebook page that Scream Factory is indeed releasing a Blu-ray 3D version of Amityville Horror 3-D! A 2D copy will also be included for those without 3D players or HDTVs. Although after last year’s 3D Blu-ray’s of Creature From The Black Lagoon, Dial M For Murder, the upcoming House Of Wax release, and now this, I’d say now is the time to invest in that extra dimension.
The Amityville Horror Trilogy Blu-ray Box Set will be released this October, with more details to come. »

Moviefone's Pick of the Week "Django Unchained" What's It About? Quentin Tarantino's Western about a German bounty hunter freeing a southern slave (and all that comes with it), is at once a commentary on how barbaric the idea of slavery is/was and also a dark comedy about the horrors of the slave trade. See It Because: Some moments you'll be laughing out loud and at others you'll be morose and silent. In the end, you'll be cheering aloud for protagonist Jamie Foxx (Django), who's gunslinging badassery is one of the most memorable performances of the year. Moviefone's Blu-ray Pick of the Week "Repo Man" Criterion Collection What's It About? Uh well.... Emilio Estevez and Harry Dean Stanton star in this 1984 punk classic as a pair of repossession agents that race against rival thugs and government agents to locate a classic Chevy Malibu that may or may not have »

More Amityville-themed goodness is on its way from The Scream Factory in the form of a Blu-ray trilogy that will have you screaming, "For god's sake, Come Out!" See what I did there? See?
From the Scream Factory Facebook page...
We teased the following weeks ago but now we will confirm it: The Amityville Horror Trilogy (consisting of the '79 original, the '82 prequel and the '83 3D entry) will be making its way from us in a Blu-ray collection set before Halloween. That’s a lot of bleeding walls, flies, demons, possessed family members in HD! More specifics (extras, street date, etc.) to emerge in the Summer.
Oh the sweet visions we can conjure in our heads pertaining to watching Diane Franklin engage in filthy incest and seeing the enigma that is Tony Roberts' Caucasian afro in full 1080p! It's what Blu-ray was made for! Bless you Scream Factory! »

Moviegoers eager for some old-fashioned thrills turned out in solid numbers this weekend for the Evil Dead remake and the 3D re-release of Jurassic Park 3D. Add in good performances from holdovers, and this was one of the stronger weekends of 2013 so far: the Top 12 earned an estimated $127.5 million, which is up nine percent from the same frame last year.Playing at 3,025 locations, Evil Dead took first place with an estimated $26 million. That ranks 10th all-time among horror remakes, and falls right in between Halloween ($26.4 million) and The Amityville Horror ($23.5 million). While it's not the top horror opening of the year*that title still belongs to Mama ($28.4 million)*it is at least noticeably above January remake/reboot Texas Chainsaw 3D ($21.7 million). This good opening is a tribute to strong execution all around from TriStar (a division of Sony) and FilmDistrict. In making the movie itself, they kept fans of the »

"You have a lot of spirits in here, but there's one that I'm most worried about because it is so hateful."
Last month, the first trailer was released for the upcoming supernatural horror movie The Conjuring (formerly The Warren Files) and revealed Lili Taylor playing a frightening game of hide-and-seek. The movie's second trailer manages to keep a few scares while folding in more of the movie's plot.
The Conjuring follows Ed and Lorraine Warren (played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga respectively), the married, paranormal investigators that were also involved in the real-life case that would eventually inspire the 1979 horror classic The Amityville Horror. But before Amityville, there was Harrisville, where the Warrens try to help Carolyn and Roger Perron (played by Taylor and Ron Livingston), whose family is being haunted by malevolent spirits in their Rhode Island farmhouse. The story is allegedly based on true events, in so »
