The Best Hip Hop Battle Show Ever!!!!!!
5 August 2005 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

In the post-8 Mile world of hip hop, it was natural for someone to run with the trend. But Showtime took it to the next level with this show. Besides giving those who never gave a care about battling before 8 mile a rare look into the world of the most respected emcee, the battle emcee, it also gave a take no prisoner look into the contestants' personal life. From the deeply emotional stories of Qwest Mccody(Detroit) and Ness Lee(Atlanta) to the complete ignorance of Tone(Atlanta) or the overconfidence of Spitfiya(LA), Diabolical(NY), Or Young Blake(Philly), you just wanted to see who won. And to add the significance of this sport of the quick witted and clever, Celebrities such as Eminem, 50 Cent, Method Man and others basically give you a do-it-yourself kit to making it as a rapper into today's mainstream game. I only wish that Showtime Would have continued this series for a few more seasons. If you missed it, too bad you missed the best and most realistic look into the new millennium hip hop culture.
