pink, floyd, exciting, 1 July 2008
9/10
Author: Edgewalker from Tuxford, England

It's so hard to relate the lean, hungry beast seen here to the shuffling, bloated dinosaur of today, but this is Pink Floyd when they were exciting and I bet you can't remember the last time you saw pink, floyd and exciting in the same sentence. The loud 'delic clothes that hang off their skinny bodies seem oddly out of place with the intense concentration on their faces, this is a band stripped of ego and pride and concerned only with the moment, this is as fresh and invigorating as music gets and to think that twenty years later they were recording muck like Dogs of War makes me want to cry. It is widely accepted that this Interstellar Overdrive is definitive and much as I want to be awkward and pretend to prefer the short, sharp Piper version or pick some obscure live recording off some obscure bootleg, I have to concede that the majority is correct, short of a Sapphire and Steel visit to UFO, you will never hear a more sparkling sixteen minutes. If you've ever felt born out of your time, beware, watching this will confirm your darkest fears.
